David Artavia was born and raised in Houston, TX. After graduating college from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, CA with a degree in theater, he became an award-winning journalist. He was the editor in chief of The Advocate magazine and Out magazine before moving to Yahoo News, where he is a senior reporter.
