    • Steve Schlozman was raised in Shawnee Mission, KS. He attended Shawnee Mission East High School where he played football, sang in the choir, and had small rolls in school dramatic performances. He then attended Stanford University and majored in English and Biology, graduating in 1988. After college he moved to San Francisco and worked as a high school English and science teacher in Marin County, California. Following his work as a teacher, he matriculated to the Dartmouth-Brown program in medicine, and received his M.D. from Brown in 1994. He trained in psychiatry and child psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospitals, and he is currently an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and the Co-Director of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry for Harvard. His first novel, The Zombie Autopsies, was published in March 2011 by Grand Central Publishing, and he has used the neuroscience of zombies to teach functional neuroscience to medical students and other interested parties. He plays himself in the upcoming documentary film, Dead Man Working directed by documentary filmmaker L.E. Salas. He also appears on the History Channel's faux documentary Zombies: A Living History. Recently filmmaker and director George Romero and Schlozman have begun collaborating on a planned film adaptation of The Zombie Autopsies.
