- Born
- Birth nameOctavio Jose Quilichini Otero
- Octavio's first job required partial nudity at the tender age of 16 months. It was for a Q-tips commercial in 1985. He somehow managed to captivate audiences all over the US and South America with a flirty single eyebrow lift as his face was being caressed on camera. Because of his ability to be so calm and easy on set he subsequently got cast on many more commercials. To name a few he was featured in National commercial campaigns for KB Toys, Nutella, Bayer, and Pizza Hut. All throughout his childhood and teens. During this time he also booked over 150 local commercials. He played Pinocchio on stage for four years in a row from the age of 4 to 8 at el Teatro Tapia in Old San Juan. The greatest theatre in Puerto Rico. In the same theatre he returned years later at the age of 18 to portray Bruce Ewing in an adaptation of Titanic that ran for 3 months. During his career in Puerto Rico he also was a cast member for the legendary 90s sketch comedy show "Que Vacilon" as a prankster. It featured a segment like "Punked" but way before it. He would prank Puerto Rican celebrities in staged daily situations to completely unaware celebs.
He took a break from acting to go to college, play professional volleyball, training for the junior Olympics in 1999, and dedicated extremely rigorous time to one of his deepest passions, gymnastics. After getting too old for gymnastics and graduating college with a bachelors in science in management, he was desperate to come back to acting, but he was tired of being financially controlled by his managers, agents, and parents. Instead he decided to take a few years to experience the 9 to 5 World and proof to himself he could be self sufficient without any help. And so he did for another seven and a half years. He pretty much covered a wide range of jobs. From being a Hard Rock Hotel VIP reservations supervisor, to bouncer at the famed The Abbey in West Hollywood, bank teller, bartender, server, restaurant manager, and real estate agent in the Hollywood Hills.
He then purchased some rental properties in West Hollywood, and became a wedding officiant and Notary Public. He has held this position for 10 years as of 2023. But during this time he has had the opportunity to get cast in some "really fun" projects in Hollywood. They have all been low budget, but he is the kind of guy that does not care about fame or money. He is incredibly grateful that he is financially stable, thanks to his rental income and minister position. His biggest passion on earth is his craft. He has never done it for the money as he has always said "I don't care how much the job pays, all I care about is making it an unforgettable work of art." Even though his manager and agent are not fans of his approach, he has been lucky enough to establish solid relationships with them, and they have done nothing but support him. He has always been terrified about becoming famous or being recognized on the street, but he understands it is something completely out of his control and if it ever happens he will cross that bridge when he gets to it.
In his personal life he is the most private person I have ever met. He would much rather listen to everyone around him than be the center of attention. Once he is on stage, he completely transforms into the opposite and will take control on stage and on camera. He has an extraordinary skill for rolling with the punches, whether it is live or not. This also includes picking up his fellow actors when they freeze and pushing them to get the best performance out of them without ever breaking character, even if it means improvising and going off script. Watching Octavio perform is such a gift. He never wants to steal the show or overshadow his peers. He's a team player and wants everybody to succeed as a team. Everyone who has had the pleasure to work with him says the same thing, he is simply put, a dream to work with. Never questions anything, never criticizes anything, and always motivates everyone around him.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Adam Thomas
