The Amateur Ott Release Date Update: When & Where To Stream Rami Malek’s Spy Thriller?
Image
When & Where To Watch Rami Malek’s The Amateur On Ott? (Photo Credit – Prime Video)

Rami Malek returned to the spotlight earlier this year with The Amateur, a thriller that put him at the center of a revenge-driven spy story. The actor, known for Mr. Robot and his Oscar-winning turn as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, brought weight to a film that didn’t quite meet expectations at the box office.

Despite a cast stacked with talent like Rachel Brosnahan, Jon Bernthal, and Laurence Fishburne, the Amateur pulled in $96 million globally (per Box Office Mojo). However, once marketing and other costs were factored in, that didn’t cover its $60 million budget.

The Amateur Ott Release Date

Now, The Amateur is heading to streaming soon. The movie lands on Hulu on July 17, 2025, giving it a fresh opportunity to reach a wider audience at home. Viewers with the Disney+ bundle can also stream it there.

In Your Dreams: Take lucid dreaming to a whole new level in the trailer for Netflix’s upcoming animated film
Image
Movies like Inception and the A Nightmare on Elm Street series showed audiences the possibilities of entering the surreal world of dreams. But while those were broad experiences for adults, Netflix’s new animated comedy shows how the fun and wacky dreams of kids can be a unique adventure all its own. Netflix has just released the new trailer for In Your Dreams. The trailer is everything a kid would want — a vast world of yummy dessert treats, reuniting with an old beloved toy and living out an anime fantasy.

The official synopsis from the streamer reads,

“In Your Dreams is a comedy adventure that follows Stevie and her brother Elliot as they journey into the absurd landscape of their own dreams. If the siblings can withstand a snarky stuffed giraffe, zombie breakfast foods, and the queen of nightmares, the Sandman will grant them their ultimate dream come true…the perfect family.

‘The Amateur’ Ending Explained & Film Summary:  Is Charlie Still A CIA Agent?
Image
James Hawes’ 2025 spy thriller film, The Amateur, modernizes Robert Littell’s 1981 novel by the same name, but although it begins with an interesting premise and setup, it arguably loses its charm till the end. The plot here is centered around an aggrieved CIA intelligence analyst, Charlie Heller, who desperately wants the agency to deploy him for on-field action, as he wants to exact revenge against his wife’s killers. Although The Amateur is quite predictable overall, and Rami Malek’s performance is a hit-and-miss affair, it is still intriguing enough for a single watch and will be enjoyable for fans of the spy thriller genre.

Spoiler Alert

What is the film about?

The Amateur begins with Charlie Heller making some time before he has to rush to his workplace to work on an old airplane that his wife, Sarah, has recently gifted him on his birthday. It is clear that...

‘The Amateur’ Review: Rami Malek Is a CIA Analyst Turned Avenger in a Thriller More By-the-Code Than It Looks
Image
Charlie Heller (Rami Malek), the mad-as-hell secret-agent geek brainiac at the center of “The Amateur,” is a CIA analyst who works five floors underground at Langley, in the Decryption and Analysis department. There, he’s a master of all things coded and virtual, a surveillance hacker par excellence. Out of the office, he and his adoring business-person wife, Sarah (Rachel Brosnahan), reside in a renovated farmhouse and appear to have the perfect life. So when Sarah, on a corporate trip to London, gets taken hostage by a cadre of terrorists and is killed on the spot, it’s as if Charlie’s entire existence had been wiped away. Since the tragedy was an international incident, his bosses at the Agency assure him that the perpetrators will be hunted down. But that’s not enough for Charlie. It won’t sate his rage, his desire for vengeance. Instead, Charlie says, “I want to kill them himself.

‘The Amateur’ Review: Rami Malek Kills People with Math in a Jason Bourne Movie for Stem Kids
Image
Logic suggests that rogue CIA assassin Jason Bourne might be much less of a threat if — instead of a shredded government super-soldier with a sniper’s accuracy and no personal attachments — he were a vaguely autistic wife guy who couldn’t hit someone with a bazooka if they were standing right in front of him. James Hawes’ “The Amateur” begs to differ.

An aggressively competent spy thriller that has less use for logic than its lead actor does for his smile, this globe-trotting Robert Littell adaptation would have us believe that no one is more dangerous than a math nerd who refuses to think of himself as a killer, and the film makes a compelling enough case to sustain itself across the entire television season’s worth of plot that it packs into two hours. Rami Malek has made that argument before, of course, and the “Mr. Robot” star’s...

‘I hope new generations see how futile the old system is’: The Lathums on gentrification, indie-rock nepo babies, and their undying love for Wigan
Image
There was one moment, Alex Moore confesses, when he felt like Emperor of Wigan. Due to play a local show at a roller-skating rink a few days ago, this unassuming singer – frontman of breakout indie rockers The Lathums, the town’s biggest local heroes since The Verve – decided, naively perhaps, to walk the only road down to the gig. Right into the arms of an adoring mob.

“Everybody that was going to the gig was on that road,” the 23-year-old grins coyly, leaning into the wreckage of bongs and crisp packets littering the kitchen table in the band’s HQ. “Got noticed immediately, literally a couple of steps, [everyone was] taking pictures and that. And then they all just lifted me up. Honestly, hundreds of people lifted me up and carried me to the venue. I didn’t take a single step. They were carrying me going: ‘Alex! Alex!’”

It’s exactly...
