  • In 2015, Burgess appeared in a Miami production of the Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical Into the Woods, playing The Witch--a role that was originally written for a woman and that has been played by such famous actresses as Bernadette Peters, Phylicia Rashad, Vanessa Williams, and, in the movie, Meryl Streep. In a January 2015 Playbill article by Andrew Gans, the co-runner of the producing theater said, "We wrote a letter, through MTI, addressed to Mr. Sondheim and Mr. Lapine regarding Tituss playing the Witch and we were approved! It was a special moment for us.".
  • Graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in music.
  • Nominated for the 2018 Emmy Award in the Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category for his role as Titus Andromedon in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015), but lost to Henry Winkler from Barry (2018).
  • Born on exactly the same date as "Kids Incorporated" alum Jennifer Love Hewitt (also of "I Know What You Did Last Summer" fame).
