Grant Ross was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He discovered his passion for performance at the age of 8, making his stage debut in a school play as a lonely crocodile. Since then, he has built a diverse and impressive body of work across film and television and he's only just getting started.

During high school, Grant was recognized as Best Newcomer Actor and received his Drama Colors for excellence in performance. He went on to earn a BA in Live Performance and Film at AFDA in Cape Town, where he focused on honing his craft for screen acting.

Grants earlier screen credits include SAF3 (2014), Grzimek (2015), Bypass (2016), National Geographics No Man Left Behind (2016), and the BBC/Netflix epic Troy: Fall of a City (2018), where he appeared alongside Alfred Enoch, Frances OConnor, and David Threlfall. That same year, he starred as Mousy, Ray Winstones right-hand man in ICE (AT&T Audience Network), and featured in NBCs action-drama Warrior (2018).

A major highlight of Grants recent career was being cast as Captain Genzo in Netflix high-profile live-action adaptation of One Piece (2023). Based on one of the best-selling manga series of all time, the series had immense global anticipation and a massive fanbase to satisfy. Appearing in two key episodes, Grant brought depth and heart to the beloved character of Genzo - the loyal and protective village sheriff - acting alongside rising international talents in a visually stunning and emotionally rich reimagining of the source material. He portrayed the role in a grounded American accent, showcasing his vocal versatility and international appeal.

He followed this with a string of standout performances, including Jannie in Catch Me a Killer (Showmax, 2024) alongside Game of Thrones star Charlotte Hope, and Mr. Greene, a narcissistic father in Summertide (M-Net, 2024), where he skillfully adopted a refined British RP accent for the role. He played Boonsaaier in Heart of the Hunter (Netflix, 2024), a film adaptation of Deon Meyers New York Times bestselling novel.

In Invasive (Tubi, 2024), Grant took on the chilling role of a journalist who endures a horrific fate, in a psychological thriller directed by visionary filmmaker Jem Garrard. That same year, he starred as Deryck, a playboy millionaire in The Morning After (Amazon Prime, 2024), under the direction of Oscar-nominated Cindy Lee.

Looking ahead, Grant joins Aaron Eckhart in Muzzle: City of Wolves (Netflix, 2025), playing Detective Spitzer in a gritty crime thriller helmed by director John Stalberg Jr.

Also set for release in 2025 is The Fire, a deeply personal short film in which Grant plays the lead role of Diego, an Argentinian man grappling with identity, love, and loss. For the performance, Grant adopted a Spanish accent - a bold linguistic and emotional challenge he embraced fully. The result is what some call his most powerful and transformative performance to date. Directed by visionary storytellers Shane and Bianca Vermooten, The Fire has already drawn praise from early viewers for its emotional impact and authenticity.

A dedicated actor and storyteller, Grant continues to evolve his craft through the teachings of Uta Hagen, Tony Barr, Sanford Meisner, Larry Moss, Milton Katselas, and Ivana Chubbuck. His training is matched by a sharp ear and vocal adaptability, making him highly proficient in a range of accents including Russian, British (RP), Cockney, American (General), Scottish, Spanish, Afrikaans, and South African English.

His ability to fully inhabit a character through voice and dialect has made him a reliable and versatile asset across international productions. Whether portraying an Argentinian in The Fire, an American in One Piece, or a British father in Summertide, Grant consistently brings authenticity, nuance, and emotional truth to every performance - no matter the accent, no matter the role.
