Fans were delighted for the opportunity to get to see the next two Cixin Liu's books adapted onscreen, after a particularly wild cliffhanger was left dangling over our heads at the end of season 1: the alien race of the San Ti are on their way to Earth, and they're not exactly friendly, sending a message to humanity: "You are bugs."

Unfortunately for the audience, it seems their arrival on Earth might take some time. Despite a prompt renewal announcement Netflix did not include the show on its list of 2025 releases, leading to rumors of a 2026 release.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Martin was asked about the status of the final novel in the long-running A Song of Fire and Ice series, The Winds of Winter, which fans have been hotly-anticipating the release of for well over a decade. "Unfortunately, I am 13 years late," Martin responded. "Every time I say that, I'm [like], 'How could I be 13 years late?' I don’t know, it happens a day at a time... But that's still a priority. A lot of people are already writing obituaries for me. [They're saying] 'Oh, he'll never be finished.' Maybe they're right. I don't know. I'm alive right now! I seem pretty vital!"

Per Deadline, Harden will join Sophie Turner and Kit Harington in a new horror film titled The Dreadful. The film also stars Laurence OFuarain (The Gentlemen) and Jonathan Howard (Thor: The Dark World). The film will reportedly be set during the War of the Roses, a period in which several civil wars were waged for control of the English throne. The Dreadful follows "Anne (Turner) and her sinister mother-in-law Morwen (Harden), who live a solitary, harsh life on the outskirts of society. But when a man (Harington) from their past returns, he sets off a sequence of horrifying events that become a turning point for Anne."

While it was stressed that the project is still in its infancy and not yet officially greenlit, Bloys teased that Martin is directly involved with the creative process. Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is stepping into the little gray cells of one of the worlds most iconic detectives, as he lends his voice to Agatha Christies Hercule Poirot in a new Audible production. Dinklage will lead a huge cast for the dramatized version of Christies classic novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, in the latest iteration of the character. The synopsis provided by the official Agatha Christie website reads:

The upcoming adaptation will tell "the story of an injured and traumatized Captain Hastings (Himesh Patel), who has been invited to a large country estate (Styles Court) to recover after serving in World War I. With tensions tearing the family apart, what seems like a perfect haven soon turns into a nightmare, as the matriarch of the family Emily Inglethorp (Harriet Walter) is brutally murdered.

Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage will take on the role of Hercule Poirot in a new adaptation of Agatha Christie's debut novel for Audible. Dinklage joins a star-studded cast for the dramatized reading of Christie's The Mysterious Affair at Styles.

Dinklage will portray the famous detective Poirot for the audiobook reading, with Himesh Patel starring alongside him as Poirot's companion, Captain Hastings. Baby Reindeer star Jessica Gunning joins the star-studded cast as the novel's antagonist, Evie Howard. Harriet Walter (Succession) plays the role of Emily Inglethorp, a wealthy elderly matriarch who is the central character to the story's mystery. The rest of the cast includes Rob Delaney as Alfred Ingletorp, Phil Dunster as John Cavendish, Patsy Ferran as Mary Cavendish, John Bradley as Lawrence Cavendish and Vivian Oparah as Cynthia Murdoch. Audible's The Mysterious Affair at Styles is set to release globally on Nov. 14.
