Wonder Woman Tackles the 80s With a Movie Poster We Cannot Believe is Real
Image
An awesome new artwork allows Wonder Woman to shine like a true '80s icon with a variant cover in the style of a poster for an old-school power fantasy. Diana has had a lot of amazing adaptations over the years, but this cover makes one pine for a long-gone cinematic era.

As 2024 winds down, fans are getting a peek at what lies ahead in the new year thanks to DC Comics' batch of solicitations for February 2024. The month is full of exciting new offerings, including the revival of Green Lantern Corps. But Wonder Woman fans are going to want to check out this month's variants, including one by David Talaski.

Talaski's cover shows Wonder Woman standing confidently against a black background. She's backlit and glowing as her Bracelets of Submission gleam and her Lasso of Truth shines in the darkness, a tableau not unlike posters from '80s action movies.

With Howard the Duck's 50th anniversary at Marvel Comics fast approaching, the publisher has revealed new variant covers starring the pint-sized hero alongside other heroes and villains. Included among the batch of covers is Howard wielding the Infinity Gauntlet in a new image from Ron Lim, as he gains one of the most powerful cosmic artifacts in the Marvel Universe while standing above Adam Warlock. Howard may be the most unlikely hero ever to wield the reality-changing weapon.

Marvel revealed four new covers for Howard the Duck's 50th-anniversary celebrations, as the hero, created by Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik, takes the spotlight in the series of new variants. The covers feature Howard the Duck alongside the Planet of the Apes in a cover by David Talaski, the hero teaming up with the Cosmic Ghost Rider in a variant from Cory Smith, and Howard appearing alongside Black Cat and Mary Jane Watson...

DC's New Aquaman Proves Arthur Curry Failed Atlantis
Image
DC Comics' newest Aquaman, Jackson Hyde, has taken up the mantle and begun making long overdue waves of change through the vast city of Atlantis. This bold, new take on Aquaman and what he stands for highlights where Arthur Curry fell short during his rule. As a hero to the surface world, a Justice Leaguer, and the King of Atlantis, Arthur had a lot on his plate that forced him to ignore one of the kingdom's biggest problems.

Atlantis is home to many different prominent characters, each hailing from a different province within the city, the most well known being Arthur Curry and Mera, the King and Queen of Atlantis, respectively. As the two most powerful Atlanteans, they've successfully protected their home from outside invaders for many years. While these feats are very impressive, the kingdom of Atlantis has faced much deeper, internal struggles, including problems of prejudice and disdain for the province of Xebel.

Harley Quinn Becomes The DC Universe’s Cupid in Romantic New One-Shot
Image
It looks like Harley Quinn might finally get to play the role she was born for. DC Comics has revealed DC's Harley Quinn Romances #1, an anthology one-shot filled with love stories with Harley at the center of it all.

If there's one thing that's known about Harley, it's that she's completely ga-ga over the notion of love. Love was the deciding factor in her leaving behind her life as a psychiatrist and becoming the Joker's sidekick. And it was love from her closest confidante that helped her leave the clown for good and start a more positive relationship with Poison Ivy. Harley isn't just passionate about her own love life, as she gets positively giddy at seeing others strike up close bonds. She's even played the role of matchmaker in the past. Crime and chaos may be Harley's forte, but her primary interest is always going to be love in all its forms.
