“Gullak” Season 4 Review: A Disappointingly Stretched Season with Average Performances
Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Harsh Mayar, and Vaibhav Raj Gupta in Gullak (2019)
“Gullak” Season 4, much anticipated by fans of the charming Mishra family, unfortunately fails to live up to its predecessors. While the previous seasons of this heartwarming series set high standards with their relatable storytelling and memorable performances, the latest installment falls short in multiple areas, resulting in a rather average viewing experience.

One of the major issues with Season 4 is its pacing. The narrative feels excessively stretched, with episodes dragging on without significant development or engagement. This results in a loss of the tight, crisp storytelling that made earlier seasons so compelling. The charm and wit that defined the series seem diluted, making it difficult for viewers to stay invested.

The performances in this season are another letdown. While the cast, including Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, and Harsh Mayar, has delivered strong performances in the past, their portrayal in Season 4 lacks the same spark and authenticity. The characters,...

Gullak Season 4 Ending Explained: Is It The End For The Most Important Member Of Mishra Family? Major Hints You Missed!
Image
Gullak Season 4 Is Streaming Live On Sony Liv ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Sony Liv is back with yet another entertaining and endearing episode of Gullak season 4. Starring Jameel Khan, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Harsh Mayar, this season brought an underwhelming tone along with the five new episodes. However, it is the ending that left everyone surprised and perplexed.

Do not worry; we will not give you any spoilers for the show. But yes, we would still like to discuss the ending and explain what it could possibly mean. Interestingly, it was only the final episode that brought the original elements of the show back.

The final episode finally drops a transition of the show, moving from nostalgia to present age and striking a debate between adulting and parenting. However, as the debate intensifies with the younger son of the family doing the unthinkable, we see the parents questioning their mindset.

Gullak S4 Review(Photo Credit –Sony Liv/Facebook) Gullak 4 Review: What’s It About:

“Dar aur tanaav aisa zeher hai jise thoda thoda lene se middle class ki immunity bahut badh gayi hai.” The fourth season of Gullak arrives with another set of middle-class struggles. The Tvf drama that has been closest to the real life of an ordinary working-class family has been feeding on nostalgia for the past three seasons.

However it takes a major shift with the fourth season where the Mishra Family is coming-of-age, leaving the nostalgia and entering the present world problems. But the five episodes,...

8 Lighthearted Indian Web Series You Should Watch If You Liked Panchayat

8 Lighthearted Indian Web Series You Should Watch If You Liked Panchayat. (Photo Credit – IMDb)

When Panchayat premiered on Prime Video in 2020, nobody thought the Tvf show would be a milestone in the Indian web series space. With its realistic characters, situational humour, and authentic representation of rural India, the show became one of the most-watched shows on Ott.

Panchayat has aired three seasons so far, and the story of urban engineering graduate Abhishek Tripathi finding a home in the Phulera village still strikes the right chords. If you like lighthearted comedy shows like Panchayat, here are eight Indian web series you should watch next.

1. Humorously Yours (2016-Present)

Starring Vipul Goyal as a fictionalized version of himself, Humorously Yours follows the stand-up comedian as he navigates his career and personal life. The Tvf series blends elements of reality and fiction, often drawing inspiration from Vipul’s real-life experiences. The show, also...

Gullak Season 4 Trailer Out: Mishra Family Finally Comes Of Age! (Photo Credit – Youtube)

Tvf has been delivering one of the best tales based on friendship, romance, and relationships. Some of these fed on superb nostalgia, including Yeh Meri Family and Gullak. While the new season of Yeh Meri Family could not live up to the expectations, Gullak has been holding the fort strongly for three seasons.

Now, the Mishra family is ready for the fourth season of the show, which will start streaming on June 7 on Sony Liv. It seems the trailer for the fourth season finally enters a parallel timezone, and this might be the riskiest season so far.

Gullak season 4 trailer has hinted at the adulting Vs parenting, and this glimpse clearly deserves applause for ditching the Usp of the show and entering parallel timelines. To date, the family show has played on a strong nostalgic value.

Web Series Review | Gullak 2 : A ‘real’ gem in every sense
Image
The Mishra's are back. Season 2 of the incredible Gullak by Tvf that streamed on SonyLIV is back and how! Gullak 2 is all set to premiere on SonyLIV from 15th January 2021.

Gullak 2 review

Things have somewhat changed in the Mishraji’s household. Elder son Annu (Vaibhav Raj Gupta) has unfortunately not been able to score at the Staff Selection Commission examination and Aman (Harsh Yar) is facing his board exams.

The rest is however the same in these five episodes of small little realistic slice of life gems.

Pati dev aka Husbandji Santosh (Jameel Khan) is the same honest clerk in the electricity department. Dharam Patni aka biwi matlab wife Shanti (Geetanjali Kulkarni) is making that chutney on that seel baata (grinding stone – for the English medium fellas).

These five kisse not kahani written by Durgesh Singh and helmed by Palash Vaswani are straight out of middle-class life, especially from the small town.

Review: Jalpari (The Desert Mermaid)
Nila Madhab Panda
Director: Nila Madhab Panda, Writer: Deepak Venkateshan, Actors: Lehar Khan, Krishang Trivedi, Harsh Mayar, Parvin Dabas etc.

Nila Madhab Panda deserves accolades for presenting an issue-based film in an entertaining and gripping manner. Jalpari, based on the issue of female foeticide, maintains a fine balance and never goes overboard preaching the cause. In fact, it weaves it cleverly into an adventure thriller which successfully drives the message home and is palatable to children and adults alike.

Shreya Singh is the tomboyish protagonist of the film who is brave, imaginative and adventurous. She goes on a holiday to her ancestral village with her father, grandmother and younger brother. Shreya, after performing a mermaid dance in school, is on a quest for a pond in the village where she can swim like a mermaid. But her ancestral village is one marred with severe scarcity: of water and women. Sources of water have...

Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid (2012)
'Jalpari' - a little gem, with message on female foeticide (Ians Movie Review) - Realbollywood.com News
Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid (2012)
Film: "Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid"; Cast: Parvin Dabas, Suhasini Mulay, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Harsh Mayar, Lehar Khan and Krishang Trivedi; Director: Nila Madhab Panda; Rating: ***

In spite of its flaws, of which there are many, "Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid" wins your heart with its simple fluid storytelling and characters who seem to have taken birth in the deserted village in Haryana, long before the camera was switched on.

There is a fascinating play of light and shade in Deepak Venkateshan's screenplay. It.

“Being a woman and an actress, it is very important for me to support a film like this.”- Tannishtha Chatterjee
Ten million female fetuses are estimated to have been aborted over the past two decades in India according to ActionAid. 35 million females are also ‘missing’ according to the 2001 National Indian Census. Female feticide is an urgent and prevalent issue, and this horror does not only apply to India. Oxford University research based on birth statistics revealed that 1500 females from England and Wales have gone ‘missing’ since 1990. Sons being valued higher than daughters seem to have become ‘the norm’ in Indian Society. Whilst some parents feel their daughters to be the ‘Laxmi’ (Goddess) of the house, others are repulsed by them. The expense of paying a dowry, the responsibility of family honour resting upon a daughter, as well as daughter’s being viewed as ‘parahi’ (belonging to her husband’s family) are some factors that encourage the murdering of an unborn female child.

This shocking issue of female feticide is addressed...

I am Kalam: a feel-good fable
Nila Madhab Panda
Director: Nila Madhab Panda, Writers: Sanjay Chouhan and Nila Madhab Panda, Actors: Harsh Mayar, Gulshan Grover, Pitobash, Husaan Saad etc.

For most of us who have grown up on feel-good fables of kings and queens, there is no escaping the goodness of I am Kalam. The experience is like watching a fable unfold on screen and inevitably walking out of the theatre contented. Chotu alias Kalam is a poor boy who works at a dhaba, yearns to go to school and make it big in life. He befriends a prince who has the luxury to go to school. Eventually, the king steps in and Chotu is sent to school with the prince. Everybody knows how it will end, there is hardly any surprise element anywhere; yet there is a magic and optimism in fables which we all know from our childhood.

The magic is accentuated by using a variety of...
