Lucas graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam in 2011. Since then he made several award winning Dutch short films like "Wall #4", "No Dog in Amsterdam", "Green", "Glimp" and "Deadwood". He also directed 50 episodes of the popular Dutch youth series "Spangas".
In the summer of 2024 he directed all episodes of the Dutch children's TV series "Tentje Plof" (English title: Let's Go Camping!), which was released in 2025.
