Bartosz Nalazek is a visionary Polish cinematographer based in Los Angeles, whose work seamlessly bridges the worlds of indie cinema and mainstream film. His impressive portfolio includes standout feature films like Meg Ryan's "What Happens Later" and Robert Salerno's "Here After", as well as Jacek Lusinski's "Inverted", which took home Best Script at the 2022 Polish Feature Film Festival. Known for his ability to create striking visuals, Bartosz also captured the eerie atmosphere of "Run Sweetheart, Run" (dir. Shana Feste), which premiered in Sundance's 2020 Midnight section. His film "Eastern" earned a Best Cinematography nomination at EnergaCamerimage, while "Tell It to the Bees" (dir. Annabel Jankel) premiered at TIFF 2018. Netflix audiences will recognize his work in "The Perfect Date", and his collaboration on "Song of Back and Neck" was showcased in Tribeca's U.S. Competition.
Bartosz made a strong debut in television with the limited series "The Artists", which earned a nomination for Best TV Series of 2016 from the Polish Film Academy. Behind the scenes, he has contributed his talents as 2nd Unit Director of Photography on high-profile projects like "Call of the Wild" and "The Post" alongside legendary DP Janusz Kaminski, as well as "Boychoir" with David Franco.
A graduate of The Polish National Film School in Lodz, Bartosz honed his craft working under Kaminski on films such as "War Horse", "Lincoln", and "Bridge of Spies". His innovative approach to cinematography earned him the Emerging Cinematographer Award in 2014, and a Streamy Award nomination for his work on "Making A Scene" for The New York Times Magazine. With each project, Bartosz continues to push boundaries, shaping captivating stories through his lens.
