Biography

Katharina Leonore Goebel is a German actress, voice-actress, writer and producer. She was born in Rosenheim, Bavaria. She studied acting at the University of Music and Theatre in Rostock.

Since 2021 she is playing the detective inspector Sophia Strasser in the ARD TV-series "Watzmann ermittelt". She played the leading role in the award-winning short film "Goldilocks" (directed by Philipp Straetker), which was shortlisted for the BAFTA Student Film Awards and won the "Best Comedy Short Prize" at the Rhode Island International Film Festival (US). Her latest short film "ZwischenZeit" (directed by Theresa Rehe), in which she co-starred with Christian Tramitz, premiered at the 57th Hof International Film Festival in 2023. She is best known for playing strong female, down-to-earth characters, as well as for giving her roles a natural comedic touch. She is represented by Heppeler International Talent and Literary Agency in Munich.

Since 2019 she is writing and producing the mini-comedy-series "Kathi from Bavaria", in which she plays the role of a farmer who desperately wants to go to Hollywood. Since 2022 she is developing and producing the miniseries "Watzmann (V)ermittelt", together with Peter Marton, which was launched with 9 episodes on Instagram in 2023. Right now, she is developing her first own comedy short film.
