Biography

    • Melissa McNerney is an American Actor and Producer. After moving to New York where she earned her BFA in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College, Melissa made her professional stage debut in an original theatrical series titled The Human Variations. From 2009-2013 she co-developed the 4-piece site-specific project in New York with colleagues from her alma mater alongside director Ellen Orenstein (The Seagull with Alan Cumming). Other favorite stage roles include Ma Joad in Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath and Major Barbara in George Bernard Shaw's Major Barbara. After joining the Screen Actors Guild in 2011, Melissa shifted from theatre to TV, playing small roles on shows including The Good Wife, All My Children, and Boardwalk Empire. Now based in the Southeast, Melissa works in the film, television, and commercial market. Her commercial work includes dozens of regional and national spots for many recognizable brands in the U.S. Recent film credits include Canadian Screen Award-winning series For the Record, Michelle in Celebrity Crush, directed by Oliver Robins (Poltergeist, Airplane II) and Chloe in Fingers (with Michael St. Michaels, The Greasy Strangler). Through her company, WinniePeg Productions, Melissa has had the joy of working with globally notable brands including Visa, British Vogue, Men's Journal, T-Mobile, and many others. Her producing work spans from feature and short films (Dark My Light, Death Cast, Deep Down) to commercial and editorial projects. With a passion for supporting women working or seeking careers in the entertainment business, Melissa has served on the board of Women in Film and Television Florida.
