There was no love lost between Carolyn and her husband Moses in The Black Hamptons’ double-episode Season 2 premiere, which dropped Thursday on BET+.

With Moses set for release from prison, Carolyn hired Christopher (played by Blue Kimble), an attorney and well-connected fixer to keep her spouse behind bars. However, later scenes in the first hour revealed that Carolyn and Christopher’s relationship went beyond attorney and client.

Vivica A. Fox Joins Umc Relationship Drama ‘Stuck With You’

Exclusive: Empire star Vivica A. Fox has found a new kingdom – joining Umc relationship drama Stuck With You.

Fox, who played Cookie Lyon’s sister Candace in the Fox soap, will recur in the second season of the series, which launched earlier this year on the AMC Networks-backed streamer.

The drama stars K.C. Undercover’s Tammy Townsend and Queen Sugar’s Timon Kyle Durrett as Candace and Luvell, an unhappily married celebrity couple that struggles with being the face of #relationshipgoals while living separate lives behind closed doors.

Fox will play Terry Parker, an entertainment industry mogul who, along with her husband, Blu Parker, played by Beyond the Lights’ Isaac Keys, co-author a new hit relationship book that challenges the spotlight once held by Candace and Luvell.

Solidly crafted and intelligently inspiring, “Beautifully Broken” skillfully entwines three narratives about faith, forgiveness, and fortuitous interconnections in a drama that likely will receive a warm reception from audiences with a taste for evangelical entertainment. Director Eric Welch and his co-writers attempt a tricky balancing act here, comparing and contrasting the struggles of two African families affected by the 1994 Rwandan Genocide with crises that disrupt a well-to-do white family in Nashville. To their considerable credit, the filmmakers avoid virtually all of the clichés common to formulaic stories of “white saviors” and “magical Negroes” while treating their characters, and their audience, with due respect.

The movie begins during the early days of the Rwandan Genocide, as murderous bands of gun- and machete-wielding Hutu militia hunt and slaughter their Tutsi neighbors and co-workers. “Grey’s Anatomy” star Chandra Wilson has joined the romantic musical “Christmas Harmony” with Kelley Jakle, Sally Struthers, Lee Garlington, and vocalist/guitarist Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek, Variety has learned exclusively.

The production is currently shooting in Los Angeles and marks writer-director Nanea Miyata’s feature film debut. June Street Studios is the production company.

Jakle, who played Jessica Smith in the three “Pitch Perfect” movies, stars as a young woman who returns to her small hometown to rediscover music, family bonds, and the magic of the Christmas season. The feature includes five original songs co-written by Miyata and Justin Jones, and an additional song co-written with Richard Rudolph.

‘Beautifully Broken’ Gets Theatrical Release In August
Exclusive: Big Film Factory has pegged a release date for its film Beautifully Broken which will be released theatrically on Aug. 24 via ArtAffects. The film is about a refugee’s escape, a prisoner’s promise, and a daughter’s painful secret converge in this inspiring true story of hope. As three fathers fight to save their families, their lives become intertwined in an unlikely journey across the globe, where they learn the healing power of forgiveness and reconciliation. It will be released into 600 theaters.

The Beautifully Broken cast includes Scott William Winters, Benjamin Onyango, Emily Hahn, Eric Roberts, Jessica Obilom (Trafficked), Caitlin Nicol-Thomas (Nashville), Alan Powell(Quantico), Eugene Khumbanyiwa (District 9), Tammi Arender (Pitch Perfect 2), and television personality Thomasina “Goo Goo” Atkins (Mary Mary).
