News broke in 2023 that Rapp would be stepping down as a series regular in the Max series as she focuses on her music, and her departure was wrapped up in a two-episode arc at the start of Season 3.

Netflix has canceled the buzzy vampire drama First Kill after one season.

Deadline reported the news on Tuesday night, but the streamer has yet to confirm the cancellation.

The series launched on May 5.

"When it's time for teenage vampire Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope (Imani Lewis)," the logline reads.

"But much to Juliette's surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won't be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for."

Felicia D. Henderson serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer of First Kill, which is based on the short story by New York Times best-selling author Victoria “V. E.

Netflix has driven a stake into “First Kill,” deciding against picking up the teenage vampire series for a second season. The news comes nearly two months after the streamer debuted all eight episodes of the show’s first season in early June.

Sources close to the matter maintain that Netflix is proud of the work that producers, cast and crew put in on the series, though the decision came down to a matter of viewing numbers versus cost.

Based on a short story from horror writer V. E. Schwab, “First Kill” followed Calliope (Imani Lewis) and Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook), two teenage girls who fall for one another, but come from warring families: one a dynasty of vampire hunters, the other a line of bloodsuckers.

When you’re a vampire and you fall in love with a human, it always gets difficult, and the love story of Calliope and Juliette in “First Kill” was no different. But, even though the season finale left them in a tough spot, series star Sarah Catherine Hook is still hopeful.

In the final moments of the finale, we learn that Theo (Phillip Mullings Jr.) woke up after Elinor (Gracie Dzienny) got him staked by his own brother and begged Juliette (Hook) for help. Juliette tried to drain him, “so he could die with dignity,” but instead, she ended up turning him into a vampire. Now, Theo’s become the very thing he’s been raised to hate and hunt, and it divides the Burns family — and breaks up Cal and Jules.

Paramount Pictures has unleashed a brand new trailer for Travis Knight’s Transformer’s spin-off, Bumblebee.

Directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, the film stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Jason Drucker, Kenneth Choi, Gracie Dzienny, Rachel Crow and Pamela Adlon.

The spin-off is the first film in the live-action Transformers series that will not be directed by Michael Bay. Although you can guarantee he isn’t out of the picture completely as he will act as producer.

Optimus Prime will indeed appear in the upcoming Bumblebee solo movie. Paramount brought a big showing for the Transformers spin-off, which takes place decades before the events of the Michael Bay movies, to San Diego Comic-Con this year. The studio is doing their best to wash the bad taste away that was left behind by Transformers: The Last Knight last year. Even though this movie is going to center on the beloved yellow Autobot, the leader of the Autobots will have a presence in the movie.

Director Travis Knight was on hand at #SDCC2018. During an interview, the director confirmed that Optimus Prime does have at least a cameo in Bumblebee. In some new footage that was showcased at the event, Optimus reportedly appeared via a hologram. The Bumblebee movie has just been given its first official poster. This comes just after the debut of the spin-off's first teaser trailer arriving online, which appears to be taking quite a few people by surprise. At this point, nobody would blame you for being burnt out on the Transformers movies, but this genuinely looks to be something very different than what's come before it. Case in point, this first poster is relatively minimalistic and kind of sweet.

The poster features our titular alien robot and his newfound human companion, Charlie, played by Pitch Perfect star Hailee Steinfeld. The two are standing with their backs to us looking off into the distance watching the sunset on the ocean. Were it not for Bumblebee standing right there, you would hardly know this poster was for Transformers movie at all. There is no action. There are no explosions. No Bayhem in sight.

A new photo from the set of director Travis Knight's Bumblebee movie has surfaced online. It gives us our first look at Bumblebee as an old-school Vw bug. I love that we get to see Bumblebee in his original form this time around. 

I'm really hoping that this movie will actually tell a decent story that Transformers fans will enjoy. I trust that Knight will give us something that is at least charming and enjoyable. Here's what we know about the plot so far:

As production begins in the Transformers spin-off film Bumblebee, we have our first look at Hailee Steinfeld in the lead role of Charlie Watson. The actress posted the image on Twitter, and as you can see, she's sporting 80s-style punk look, which is the era that the film is set in. She's also teasing the character attitude with her look.

The Robots in Disguise franchise is getting even bigger – and more ripped! After five movies so far, the first spin-off for the Transformers is gathering speed with another actor added to its ranks this week.

WWE star John Cena (The Wall, Trainwreck) has joined the cast of the upcoming Bumblebee film, which is set for release next Christmas. The production kicked off on Monday.

Pitch Perfect 3 and The Edge of Seventeen star Hailee Steinfeld is leading the cast for the film, which features a predominately young cast that also includes Jason Drucker, Jorge Lendeborg, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Gracie Dzienny and Ricardo Hoyos. Paramount Pictures just announced that their Bumblebee Transformers spinoff movie has started production. In that announcement, they reveal that John Cena is taking on a lead role in the film. He will star alongside Hailee Steinfeld, Jorge Lendeborg, Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Ricardo Hoyos and Gracie Dzienny. The studio also offered up the first official plot synopsis:

We have good news and bad news coming out of the Transformers camp today.

First up, the good: WWE wrestler John Cena has landed a lead role in the Travis Knight-directed Bumblebee movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. But rather than lighting up theaters in June, the first of Paramount’s Transformers spinoffs will now open Stateside on December 21st, 2018. That’s a release date it currently shares with Aquaman, so it’ll be interesting to find out if Warner Bros. and/or Paramount shuffle their slates to avoid a clash of interests or, in the more likely scenario, whether the two standalone tentpoles will duke it out for box office supremacy in a year’s time.

Then again, it’s worth keeping in mind that Paramount’s Bumblebee movie, one that takes place in the 1980s, will skew toward a younger audience – hence the casting of Cena – with...

Paramount's Transformers spinoff Bumblebee is quickly rounding out its cast, adding a handful of young actors including Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Ricardo Hoyos and Gracie Dzienny, who are in various stages of negotiations.
