Rebecca Blumhagen is a remarkably versatile and expressive actor, writer and filmmaker, equally adept on the stage and screen, tackling a large variety of material ranging from comedy to drama.

She can be seen starring as "Sam" in the HBO/Cinemax breakout series The Girls Guide To Depravity based on Heather Rutman's cult blog of the same name. Season 2, which premieres September 2013, centers on Sam and her struggle to rewrite the rules after she's abandoned by lifelong best friend, Lizzie. Blumhagen was a member of the writing team for Season 2, lending her unique voice and humor to the series and even composing one of the featured songs.

Rebecca recently wrapped production on the feature film Other Plans in the starring role of Claire opposite Jamie Kennedy. The film also features Joseph Gannascoli (The Sopranos), Michael Kastroff (The Wire) and Malik Yoba (NY Undercover). Other recent film and television work includes Extinction, in which she starred opposite Corin Nemec, Lefty Loosey Righty Tighty, Adam Underground, and work on ABC's hit drama Body of Proof opposite Emmy winner Dana Delaney. Upcoming movies include The Road Home (with Lily Tomlin).

Recent stage credits include her critically acclaimed performance as "Katia" in Memory House at the Merrimack Repertory Theater, "Ana" in the premiere of Smart Cookie at The Alliance Theatre, and "Emily" in Our Town at The Arden Theatre Company. Blumhagen also played "Juliet" in Romeo and Juliet, "Moth" in Love's Labour's Lost (both at the Virginia Shakespeare Festival), and "Hanna" in A Shayna Maidel at the Chenango River Theatre.

Blumhagen has directed three collaborative plays in East Africa through the International Theater and Literacy Project including A Midsummer Night's Dream and an adaptation of Our Town. In summer 2011 she was the Tanzania Director and shot the short documentary The Sky Is So Far From The Land, which premiered at the annual International Theater and Literacy Project gala in NYC. Blumhagen is also the co-founder of the Springs Shakespeare Festival, where she produced and directed Romeo and Juliet as well as three original plays using Shakespeare's text and music: A Love Play, A Storm Play, and Shakespeare's Into The Woods.

In addition to her on camera work, Rebecca is the Video Director at Apartment Therapy, where she has produced, directed, and edited 95 videos about home design in the last year, totaling 27 million views since August 2012. She has produced original commercial content in conjunction with Apartment Therapy for Hewlett Packard and Glidden Paint, and is currently developing an original series called The A Line with Apartment Therapy and the Scripps Network (HGTV, the Food Network).

Blumhagen is a founding member of a member of a lullaby band (The Sparrows Lullaby Band), which released its first EP in December of 2012. She is a graduate of Wheaton College.
