Originally from Phoenix, Andy studied media at the University of Arizona, and later completed his MFA at Columbia University's Graduate Film Program in New York. His pilot Stanistan (2015), an Afghan War satire, was shot by the USA network in 2014. That year, Variety named Andy one of "TV's Top Writers To Watch". He has since developed dramas for multiple platforms. His Marine drama The Corps, is forthcoming from Netflix.
