From a young age, Mackinnon was drawn to the performing arts, taking acting and singing classes before eventually finding her voice as a songwriter and live performer. Over the past few years, she has trained with respected acting coaches, including Jeb Beach, Deb Podowski, Anthony Meindl (AMAW Studios), and the Vancouver Acting School, to refine her natural talent on screen.
In music, Mackinnon has collaborated with acclaimed West Coast producers Winston Hauschild and Troy Samson to release her debut EP *Savour*, now available on all platforms. Her first major breakthrough came in 2015 when director-producer Sean McNamara featured her original song "Espresso Kiss" in the Hallmark film *Just in Time for Christmas* (starring Christopher Lloyd and William Shatner). Since then, her music has appeared in several films, including *Preggoland* (Sonja Bennett), *The Miracle Season* (Helen Hunt), *Mighty Oak* (Paramount Pictures), and *Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite!* (Warner Bros.).
In 2020, she released the catchy, upbeat single "Roller Coaster" followed by the emotionally charged track "Lies," both showcasing her growth as a songwriter and performer. Since then, she has continued writing and recording new material.
Most recently, Mackinnon was awarded the Career Development Grant from Creative BC to support the release of her debut full-length album, set for release later in 2025. With new music on the horizon, she's back on stage performing throughout Vancouver - and gearing up to take the show on the road.
