Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, David Koechner, and Paul Rudd in Légendes vivantes (2013)
What's so different about the R-rated cut of 'Anchorman 2' in theaters now?
Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, David Koechner, and Paul Rudd in Légendes vivantes (2013)
The term "director's cut" has been abused to the point of meaninglessness in the age of special edition DVDs, and it is easy for the consumer to eventually tune out any mention of a "new" version of a film, sure they're only going to see a few small differences after sitting through something they have, for the most part, already seen and fully digested. That is not the case with the R-rated cut of "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" that is in theaters at the moment. This may well set the new standard for just how different an alternative cut of a film can be, and it's a fascinating exercise in how just a few choices can make the difference between two different ratings and, in a world where studios are spending tens of millions of dollars to market a film, the economic success or failure of a movie. By far,...

Feb. 20, 2014 - They're not the main characters, but scene stealers are those characters who make the most of their limited time on screen - you think about them after the movie is over ("Dug" from Up is a great example - squirrel!). Here are the 2013 nominees for Pick Scene Stealer:

Fabrizio Guido, World War Z. Soon after Tommy's parents take in Brad Pitt's family, they're bitten by zombies. When Tommy escapes, you feel like that could be You.

Pick Scene Stealer Nominees Made Us Laugh, Made us Ache
They're not the main characters, but scene stealers are those characters who make the most of their limited time on screen - you think about them after the movie is over ("Dug" from Up is a great example - squirrel!). Here are the 2013 nominees for Pick Scene Stealer:

Fabrizio Guido, World War Z. Soon after Tommy's parents take in Brad Pitt's family, they're bitten by zombies. When Tommy escapes, you feel like that could be You.

Katelyn Mager, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. We are still haunted by Thalia's eyes and how they conveyed both fear and courage as she chose to sacrifice herself to the monsters so her friends could escape.

Kamil McFadden, Grown Ups 2. Kamil's comedic performance as "Bumpty" who has an unconventional approach to trying to date China Anne McClain's Charlotte it made us laugh hard - and reminded us of a young Eddie Murphy.

Movie Review: Anchorman 2 The Legend Continues
Ron Burgundy is back! Just as arrogant and charming as we remember. But Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is strictly for fans alone. It will be completely unappreciated by anyone that does not get the epic nuances of the masterful Will Ferrell.

The storyline is based in the early 1980s and the beginning of the currently popular twenty-four-hours-a-day-news trend. The first station to offer this is called Gnn, a play on CNN. Ron Burgundy played by Will Ferrell is sure not to disappoint his fans. He is of course joined with his all-star winning news team Paul Rudd as Brian Fantana, Steve Carell as Brick Tamland, and David Koechner as Champ Kind. Together they are still as silly as we remember. Brick has a new love interest that is just perfect for him. Champ has started his own restaurant featuring fried bats, Fantana is a prominent photographer of cats and...

‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ Review
Stars: Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Kristen Wiig, Steve Carell, Vince Vaughn, James Marsden, Meagan Good | Written by Adam McKay, Will Ferrell | Directed by Adam McKay

Like many people in my age group, my friends and I fell in love with the first Anchorman film over beery evenings with piles of DVDs. We would then spend hours, days and weeks trading our favourite quotes, implementing them into our everyday lives and generally annoying the hell out of anyone who wasn’t as enamoured with Will Ferrell’s screwball comedy as we were. We’d come to the film as fans of Zoolander, Starsky & Hutch and Dodgeball, but Anchorman felt like the last word in the frat pack’s slew of semi-improvised surrealist comedies. As such, Anchorman will always offer nostalgic pleasures for me, as well as a script that somehow never loses its funniness despite some serious repetition.
