It’s mixed feelings galore for fans of the 9-1-1 franchise.
There’s so much happening right now that our collective heads are spinning. For some asinine reason, Athena is moonlighting on Doctor Odyssey, 9-1-1: Lone Star literally went down in flames (and radiation), and we discovered that instead of wowing us with something new, the latest spinoff will take place in Nashville.
Yee-haw, hee-haw, and all that fun stuff, but while the mother series appears to be doing well enough and even thriving to the point of needing to lend a hand to that sinking ship that is Doctor Odyssey, the latter two points remain a frustrating point of contention.
(Kevin Estrada/Fox) We’re Already Wary of 9-1-1: Nashville’s Location
We’ve barely buried 9-1-1: Lone Star after they delivered one of a series’s most disappointing, unsatisfying final seasons in quite some time.

9-1-1: Nashville is moving along much faster than I anticipated.
The latest entry in the 9-1-1 franchise has barely been announced in a month, and we already have our leading man.
Chris O’Donnell, best known for playing Special Agent in Charge Grisha “G” Callen on NCIS: Los Angeles, has lassoed the lead role on the forthcoming offshoot.
(Courtesy of CBS)
He’ll play Captain Don Sharpe, “a rugged fire captain and rodeo rider who runs Nashville’s busiest firehouse with his beloved son,” according to the official character description.
“Don’s a devoted husband and family man, but he has his secrets.”
(Michael Yarish/CBS)
The lead character being male and having many secrets sounds very similar to 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star’s leading men, so I hope the Nashville-set spinoff takes things in a different direction.

9-1-1 has been on the air long enough that fans have been able to look back and get nostalgic. 9-1-1: Lone Star may be over, but the flagship show in the franchise is still going strong, which fans the time to pick apart different eras and compare/contrast.
One thing fans inevitably do in debate whether a show would be better if a particular character from a spinoff was still around, or if said character suddenly made a transition to the flagship show. Well, 9-1-1 showrunner Tim Minear recently talked about the possibility of one character's return during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

While it's not cancelled, fans aren't going to be able to watch the Ghosted TV show on Fox for some time. The network has removed its new, supernatural series from the schedule, in order to make room for Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 5B. Back in November, Fox gave Ghosted a sign of confidence when it upped the season one order from 13 to 16 episodes and brought on Paul Lieberstein to serve as the new showrunner, for the last six episodes. Reportedly, season one will return to Fox later in the season with the seven remaining episodes, including Lieberstein's six. A Fox horror comedy, Ghosted stars Craig Robinson, Adam Scott, Ally Walker, Adeel Akhtar, and Amber Stevens West. It centers on ex-Lapd detective and current mall security guard, Leroy Wright (Robinson), and former Stanford astrophysics professor and current bookstore clerk, Max Jennifer...
