Jim Molan was born on 11 April 1950 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was married to Anne Molan. He died on 16 January 2023 in Royalla, New South Wales, Australia.
Named the Australian Thinker of the Year for 2009 by the international School of Thinking, in recognition of his unique work as an Australian general overseeing a total force of 300,000 troops, including 155,000 Americans, in Iraq from 2004.
