Sinéad is an award-winning Irish actress, producer, and founder of ORion Productions. She holds an Honours Degree in Electronic Engineering, an Associate Recital Diploma from LAMDA, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Producing with Screen Ireland.. In 2024 she made a powerful mark with her first leading role in the Irish independent feature film Swing Bout, where she played a conniving, morally ambiguous boxing coach-a performance that has been widely praised for its intensity, nuance, and magnetism.
In Swing Bout, O'Riordan also took on the role of producer, helping bring the gritty, emotionally charged story to life with a strong creative hand. This dual contribution, both on-screen and behind the scenes, earned her a Discovery Award nomination at the Dublin International Film Festival 2024. Her performance drew critical acclaim, with The Guardian noting she was "particularly good as a dodgy coach", and FM104's Andy McCarroll calling her "absolutely fantastic" in the role. Swing Bout premiered at DIFF in February 2024, won Best Picture at the Paladino d'Oro Sports Film Festival, and enjoyed a four-week independent cinema run in Ireland, drawing rave reviews from The Guardian and The Irish Examiner. It is now streaming on Apple TV, Prime Video, and YouTube across Ireland and the UK.
O'Riordan's screen credits span drama, comedy, thriller, and genre work, showcasing her versatility and a fearless approach to character development. She appeared in the multi-award-winning series The Dry (Element Puctures), Curers (Northern Ireland Screen), Mir (Madra Mór Productions), Conversations with my Dead Father (Screen Ireland), Sucking Diesel (Amazon Prime), Killers Within and Dead Along The Way( Amazon Prime). Most recently, she starred in the short film The Forest Dreams of the Past (Fiona Aryan/writer/director).
As a producer, Sinéad also co-produced the Puttnam Award-winning short Wireless, which screened at Oscar- and BAFTA-qualifying festivals and is currently featured on Aer Lingus in-flight entertainment. She also co-produced the Screen Ireland-funded Conversations with My Dead Father, which won Best in Cork at the Fastnet Film Festival 2022, Dead Along The Way Feature Film (Amazon Prime) and Sucking Diesel web-series (Amazon Prime).
Beyond her own films, Sinéad has worked as an EPK Producer on major Netflix and Apple TV projects, including Lift (Kevin Hart) and Swagger (O'Shea Jackson Jr.), among others.
Her screen presence is matched by her off-screen ambition: a tenacious creative who is carving out space for bold, character-driven narratives within the Irish and international film landscape. She brings an actor's sensitivity and a producer's foresight to every project she joins, making her a valuable and multifaceted collaborator. Her career is defined by depth, daring, and distinction. From gritty urban dramas to emotionally rich ensemble pieces, she continues to select work that reflects her sharp instincts, bold choices, and commitment to authenticity by being unapologetically creative, and unapologetically original.
