Sandeep Chopra, born in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, India, developed a passion for capturing the natural beauty of his surroundings from a young age. With the support of his family, particularly his father who bought him his first video camera at age 7, Sandeep began his filmmaking journey. He created a series of short films, primarily focusing on religious and documentary themes, which were well-received by his community and educators.

Despite his early success in filmmaking, Sandeep's life took a turn when his father moved to Wichita, Kansas, for work. Sandeep joined him, facing cultural and academic challenges as a new immigrant but excelling both socially and academically. Although his focus shifted away from filmmaking during this time, Sandeep continued to demonstrate his intellectual prowess, winning numerous science and technology contests in high school.

Despite his achievements in the United States, Sandeep always felt drawn back to India. He seized the opportunity to return to his homeland after completing his education, reigniting his passion for filmmaking. Sandeep's journey is marked by a dedication to his craft, a pursuit of academic excellence, and a strong connection to his cultural roots.
