Janelle Christa is a Multi-Award Winning American Actress, Director, Screenwriter, and Producer. She was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah before moving to Hollywood.
Janelle has worked on thousands of sets beginning at the age of 9 when she appeared on the popular TV Show "Touched by an Angel." She has since worked along major stars such as P!nk, Ellen, Oprah, Alan Thicke, and presented awards at Film Festivals to Leonardo Dicaprio, Martin Scorsese, Gweneth Paltrow. Over a span of 30 years, she has worked on thousands of sets ranging from commercials (including a Super Bowl commercial), movies, television series, reality shows, short films, independent films, and lots of modeling work (including big brands such as Stanley, Covergirl, Revlon, Pixi Beauty Cosmetics)
As far as acting goes, Janelle won her first Best Actress Award at FIFF London, and her first Best Supporting Actress Award at the Sho Low Film Festival, and Best Cast at the Indie Short Fest.
For her Directorial Debut "Transcendent," (which premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard at the Golden State Festival) To Date: she won Best (Female) Director at the Future of Film Festival, Best First-Time Director at the IndieX Festival, Best First-Time Director at Vesuvius International Film Festival, Best Female Director at the Independent Shorts Awards Best First-Time Director at the NYC Best Actor and Director Awards, Best Director of an Experimental Film at the NYC Best Actor and Director Awards, Best Female Director at the Indie Short Fest, and was nominated for the Best First-Time Director at TMFF. Nominations include Best Female Director at LA Independent Women Film Awards.
Her Best Picture Awards include: Best Drama from FIFF London, Best of Festival at Flow Film Festival, Best Short Film at Flow Film Festival, Best Experimental Film at IndieX, Best Experimental Film at Indie Short Fest, Best Experimental Film at Independent Short Awards, Best Short Film at Vesuvius International Film Festival.
Her Writing Awards include: Best Original Screenplay at the IndieX Film Festival, Best Original Screenplay at the Indie Short Fest, an Honorable Mention at the Santa Barbara International Screenplay Awards, Best Original Story at the Independent Short Awards, and a Finalist at the Nashville Film Festival.
Her Producer Awards include Best Producer at the IndieX Fest and the Indie Short Fest.
Additional Awards include the Award of Excellence at the IndieX Fest, Award of Excellence at the Indie Short Fest, Award of Excellence (Top Short of the Season) at the Independent Shorts Festival. Best Wardrobe at the Monza International Film Festival as well as The IndieX Fest.
