Ruben Fernandez ADFC (Colombian Society of Cinematographers) studied at the New York Film Academy and lives in Colombia.
Ruben's documentary work includes the feature film "Los Ciclistas", shot in France and Colombia, as well as documentary TV series for National Geographic Channel, Vice Media, Discovery Channel, and local TV networks Señal Colombia and Canal 13.
Fiction work include the feature film "Como Te Llamas?" and TV mini series such as "La Niña Emilia, Déjala Morir", "Anibal Sensación Velazquez", "Don't Give Up: The Raizal Paradise", "El Inquisidor", "1989", and "La Casa de los Habitos".
Ruben's ample experience has led to work around the world, shooting in Spain, France, Serbia, the United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Haiti, the islands of Rapa Nui and Martinique, the Canary Islands, and throughout much of Colombia.
In 2018, Ruben won India Catalina Awards for Best Cinematography for a TV series and Best Cinematographer for his work in the TV series "Déjala Morir, La Niña Emilia". These are the most prestigious awards in Colombia for TV production.
As well as his cinematography specialty, Ruben writes, produces, directs, shoots and edits music videos for independent pop/rock artists.
