The film "Grand Avenue" is loosely based on Anthony's experiences growing up in the town of Maspeth, Queens, a favorite location of film crews and a town known for its colorful characters and rumored Mafia associations (The shine box scene from "Goodfellas" was filmed at the former Spartan's restaurant on Grand Avenue in Maspeth, and John Gotti's wake took place at Papavero's Funeral Home on Grand Avenue).
