Single Drunk Female, The Watchful Eye Canceled at Freeform and Removed From Hulu
Sofia Black-D'Elia in Single Drunk Female (2022)
Freeform's scripted roster just took a hit.

Single Drunk Female Season 1 was a massive hit for Freeform and Hulu, where it garnered strong viewership on streaming, but the buzz seemingly faded by the time Single Drunk Female Season 2 debuted earlier this year.

The second season launched in April and picked up with Sam a year and a half into her sobriety journey and finally feeling "like she has a life worth celebrating," the logline states.

"However, Sam quickly learns that sometimes life has other plans for her."

"Sam must figure out how to effect change where she can, sit in her discomfort when she can't, and maybe even enjoy the ride.

‘The Walking Dead: World Beyond’: Reunited, At Last (Recap)
Image
[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season 2, Episode 4, “Family is a Four-Letter Word.”] Well, sisters Iris (Aliyah Royale) and Hope (Alexa Mansour) have a sweet reunion — but other than that, unfortunately, not a whole lot else happens on this episode of World Beyond. Tensions are high, of course, when Huck (Annet Mahendru) walks through the gates, especially given how she left things with Felix (Nico Tortorella), and because Will (Jelani Alladin) would have a huge target on his back if the Civic Republic Military knew he was alive. But while Felix does threaten to kill her “someday” — which is just vague enough to imply it probably won’t be Felix who does her in, if she dies — he does also stop a revenge-minded Percy (Ted Sutherland) from killing her, so Huck lives to fight another day. No debut date has been given yet for the final eight episodes of the third section of the final season, but they are expected in the second half of next year.

“Thinking about choices, do they even matter anymore?” asks Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon in a teaser that AMC put out today along with the return date announcement. As you can see below, a certain well-armed and well-organized community show up to perhaps put the Survivors in their place for better or worse:

The Walking Dead Shocker: Pollyanna McIntosh Returns as Jadis ... With a Huge Catch!
Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead (2010)
The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season 2 will feature the return of a long-gone character from The Walking Dead.

AMC announced today that The Walking Dead’s Pollyanna McIntosh has joined the cast of The Walking Dead: World Beyond’s ten-episode second season premiering October 3 at 10:00p.m. Et/9c on AMC.

McIntosh will reprise her role as Jadis” a fan favorite from the Walking Dead, which should leave fans with a lot of questions.

If you watch The Walking Dead online, you know that Jadis left the mains series alongside Rick (Andrew Lincoln).

Heck, this might mean we'll finally get some intel on what became of Rick.

Then again, the franchise might want to save those reveals for, you know, the trilogy of movies announced.

On a side note: Does anyone else feel like these movies are no longer happening?

It wouldn't surprise me if Rick returned for the series finale,...

Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead (2010)
The Walking Dead: World Beyond’s Ending Still In Place, Still Doesn’t Include Rick Grimes
Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead (2010)
The Walking Dead’s second spinoff, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, promised…well, a world beyond the usual Twd storytelling possibilities.

In that regard, the AMC series about four precocious youths 10 years into the zombie post-apocalypse mostly delivered. Season 1 of the show, which premiered last October after a Covid delay, picked up in Nebraska at the Campus Colony of Omaha before heading out on a cross-country adventure. In the process, the show formally introduced the Civic Republic, and its military arm (the Crm) that seems set to become a major antagonist for The Walking Dead franchise for years to come.

Despite bringing exciting new antagonistic toys for The Walking Dead’s sandbox to play with, World Beyond is somewhat unusual compared to its companion series. While The Walking Dead is finally set to conclude with its 11th and final season beginning on Aug. 22 and first spinoff Fear the Walking Dead...

The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020)
The Walking Dead World Beyond Season 2: Premiere Date, Teaser Unveiled!
The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020)
The Walking Dead: World Beyond's short run will conclude with its second season.

Based on our first look at the second season, it looks like the spinoff will finally live up to its potential.

If there was one thing I despised about The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season 1, it was the slow nature of it all.

Now that the truth is out there about Huck's connection to Elizabeth, it should result in some bigger swings.

Then, there's the whole connection to the Civic Republic Military. To date, they've been shadowy figures doing questionable things, meaning it's tough to understand their machinations.

Using Huck as an entrance to that world will probably benefit the story greatly because she was one of the standout characters of the first season.

Iris and Hope's quest for answers led them on quite the journey, but with Hope under the rule of the Crm and her sister still out there,...

‘The Walking Dead: World Beyond’ Reveals Final-Season Premiere Date And First Look – Comic-Con
Image
Just like 2020, there’s going to be a lot of the zombie apocalypse on the small screen this fall.

In a move reminiscent of last year’s Comic-Con@Home, The Walking Dead: World Beyond on Saturday unveiled the premiere date for its second and seemingly final season. The limited-series spinoff that follows the first generation raised in the post-apocalyptic world will return to AMC on October 3.

Along with that debut date, World Beyond during its virtual panel today rolled out a clip from the 10-episode second season of the Scott M. Gimple- and Matt Negrete-created show — and things have gotten bloody, to say the least:

EPs Gimple and Negrete were both on the pre-recorded World Beyond panel this afternoon, joined by cast members Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, Nico Tortorella, Annet Mahendru, Julia Ormond, Jelani Alladin and Joe Holt.

Having appeared in World Beyond last season,...

Season 2 of 'Walking Dead: World Beyond' Gets Premiere Date, First Look (Video)
The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020)
"Walking Dead: World Beyond" is proving to be a key piece of the expanding "Walking Dead" universe, thanks to the focus that the spinoff has put on the mysterious Civic Republic, which has only appeared on the fringes of the other shows in the franchise. And now we know when we'll get to see more of Iris (Aliyah Royale) and Hope's (Alexa Mansour) struggle to try to free their dad from the Crm's clutches: October 3 on AMC, and earlier for AMC+ subscribers.

The news came out of the "World Beyond" panel during Comic-Con@Home, where we also got our first look at the new season. "Walking Dead" universe boss Scott M. Gimple also said the premiere will be followed by an episode of "Talking Dead," which is usually reserved for the main series. "Fear the Walking Dead" will also get a "Talking Dead" episode after its Season 7 premiere.

In the clip we saw,...

The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season Finale Review
Image
This The Walking Dead: World Beyond review contains spoilers.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond Episodes 9 and 10

Huck (Annet Mahendru) is a woman with a mission, and it’s not to make sure everyone gets to the Civic Republic Militia research facility safely. From the very opening of The Walking Dead: World Beyond‘s ninth episode, “The Deepest Cut,” as Huck stares into the darkness while everyone sleeps, it’s clear she’s facing a choice between the people that she has come to know and love as friends in Felix and the kids, and her loyalty to the Crm, her mother, and the Crm’s idea of the greater good. Throughout the series, when prompted, Huck has cautioned Hope in particular to make the choice that benefits everyone, not the choice that simply benefits her, and that encouragement to push hope towards that concept of the greater good makes much...
