Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Brett Michael Innes is a bestselling author and SAFTA-winning filmmaker. He has had features and shorts that have premiered in competition at festivals like Berlinale, Sundance, IFFR, Tallinn Black Nights, Atlanta, IFFK, Sydney and Urbanworld while two of his features - SINK and FIELA SE KIND - were awarded the SAFTA for Best Film and Best Screenplay in their respective years. He recently entered the world of television, directing on the Series Mania 2024 selected crime series, CATCH ME A KILLER, and Season 2 of the Netflix 'Global Top 10' Original, UNSEEN.
