Biography

    • Brad Fanshaw Automotive Expert, Award Winning Builder, Valuation Specialist

Brad Fanshaw made his fortunes in Southern California among the action sports and automotive lifestyles. No, he wasn't a native Californian, Brad became a Nebraska kid after moving to the Midwest in his teens. Nebraska was car crazy and fast muscle cars were on every street. For a kid who loved cars, the Midwest offered a crash course in mechanics. After working two jobs in college; a day job at One Stop Performance (employee discount) and a night job at UPS (cash for school/cars) he finally moved back to where he considered his other hometown, Scottsdale, AZ.

It didn't take long for Brad to move again and this time to Orange County, CA where he would have a hand in making action sports and hot rod history.

First, he took his creative talents and teamed to establish Vision Street Wear as the first action sports lifestyle brand of clothing, skateboards, shoes, and snowboards. To promote the brand an in-house production studio was formed and it created action-packed television for ESPN. The brand under his direction also used product placement in films, TV and with major bands. Vision would grow to over $120m in sales in just five years.

When Vision was sold, he finally saw an opportunity to engage himself directly in the Southern California car culture. Brad had been watching a hot rod builder named Boyd Coddington as he built some of the most intriguing and innovative cars ever constructed. Boyd had also recently launched a line of billet aluminum wheels. After some meetings, a deal was struck to invest in Boyds and hot rod history was made. Brad and Boyd were partners in what would become the most prolific car customizing shop in history. The pair created vehicles for rock stars, celebrities, business titans and Detroit manufacturers. The wheels became a foundation for the automotive aftermarket. Brad had brought his love of cars to the party and in five years he took the company public on Wall Street, hot rods were now legit. Part of the legend building included Brad's ability to package and visually show the cars and the excitement with a series of videos, "Wild Wheels". The videos each were launched annually at the SEMA trade event and became an anticipated happening.

Brad sold his ownership in the Boyd companies that would later be featured on "American Hot Rod", by then Brad was creating a successful luxury Swiss watch brand, an electric bike company and a consulting group for companies that wanted to integrate into the automotive world, build a brand or product. His company bonspeed consulted such notables as Barrett-Jackson, Saleen, Flexjet, Bombardier Aircraft, BF Goodrich and automotive manufacturers. The consulting group has morphed into a specialized entertainment company bonspeedMedia.

Today, Brad and his company bonspeedMedia conceptualize and produce leading podcast shows that are always top-rated. Shows such as Shift and Steer, Man Seeks Adventure, Dixon's Wild Ride and Mike Brewer "Behind the Wheel". Show development and pitching is another big part of the creativity that comes from his offices. Brad has developed a number of shows and worked as an Executive Producer and/or automotive consultant for a number of others. Leading production companies have all found his work invaluable.
