Hailing from Deptford, South London, Aysha Scott is an independent filmmaker and the Founder of A-Scott Productions. Aysha's career began in 2005 after training as an actress at the Anna Scher Theatre School. With over twenty years of experience in the film, TV, and theatre industries, she has excelled in various roles including acting, directing, writing, producing, editing, and casting. In 2014, she earned a BA (Hons) Creative Writing Degree from South Bank University, graduating with a 2.1 and receiving the Course Directors Prize for outstanding scriptwriting achievements. Her work is now studied at the university.

After graduation, Aysha's theatre piece, 'Unspoken', was commissioned and showcased for nine nights as a site-specific performance. She then founded A-Scott Productions to support her independent films. Her first indie feature film, *Residential*, premiered at the British Urban Film Festival in 2016 and was nominated for two awards. Aysha further honed her skills by completing a Directors Foundation Certificate at Raindance.

In 2017, Aysha wrote and produced the award-winning short film 'It Still Hurts', which premiered at S.O.U.L UK (BFI) and screened at numerous UK and international festivals. The film won Best International Short at the Validate Yourself Film Festival in New York. That same year, she was awarded a one-year membership for Women in TV and Film and was mentored by Nicola Lees.

Aysha produced the multi-award-winning short film 'Voice of Reason' in collaboration with U.S. Director Antoine Allen in New Jersey. In 2021, she made her directorial debut with her short film 'Dismissed', which she also wrote and produced. The film is available on several streaming platforms, including Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Bohemia. 'Dismissed' has amassed over 1.1 million views on the A-Scott Productions YouTube channel and was officially selected for 12 festivals, including the Cannes International Independent Film Festival, BUFF (BAFTA qualifying), Lift-Off Global Network, ISFF, and SISS Festival. It won a monetary award from the Women of African Descent Festival in Brooklyn.

'Dismissed' was picked up for distribution by Focus First International and is available on U.S. VOD platforms Softy and Hivyo TV. Aysha's written works 'Collide' (2022) and 'Misconduct' (2023) were commissioned and produced by Matchstick Theatre Company and showcased at the Matchstick Pie House. She has completed screenplays 'The Dealer's Girl' and 'Peaches' (in development) and is currently writing her feature-length screenplay 'Skin Deep'.

Aysha also runs a filmmaking academy, teaching young people aged 7 to 25 filmmaking, acting, and creative writing. From 2018 to 2020, she collaborated with Elevating Success and Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing to deliver filmmaking and acting workshops to over 100 young people in the Lewisham and Wandsworth boroughs. She has produced, written, and directed numerous short films with her students.

In 2023, Aysha was selected to attend the European Film Market as part of the BFI Cohort with her feature film debut, 'Angel'. She is developing two social realism feature films, 'Tanya' and 'Angel'. Additionally, she launched Filmmaking Planner, a company dedicated to providing custom planning tools and stationery for the film and TV industry to empower and inspire other indie filmmakers.
