Dhanya Balakrishna is an Indian actress known for her work across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam cinema. She began her film career with a supporting role in A. R. Murugadoss's 7aum Arivu (2011) and gained recognition through performances in Neethaane En Ponvasantham (2012), Raja Rani (2013), and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2013). Her first lead role came with the Telugu film Chinni Chinni Aasa (2013). Over the years, she has appeared in more than 40 films and 10 web series, including notable projects like Second Hand (2013), Raju Gari Gadhi (2015), and Bhale Manchi Roju (2015).
Raised in Bangalore, Karnataka, Dhanya attended M.E.S. School and later graduated from Mount Carmel College. She is the daughter of Balakrishna Doreswamy Iyengar, a Carnatic musician. Before entering the film industry, she was involved in theatre and briefly worked as a teacher.
Beyond films, Dhanya has made significant contributions to digital media. She starred in the Tamil web series As I'm Suffering From Kadhal (2017) and played a key role in the Telugu crime thriller series Recce (2022).
