Micah Brown has built an impressive career at the intersection of sports, storytelling, and filmmaking, leveraging his unique experiences as a former athlete and his passion for visual storytelling.

As a two-sport athlete at the University of Kansas, Micah competed in both football and track. He made the bold decision to leave a track scholarship to walk on to the football team, where he became a pivotal player in Kansas' historic 2008 Orange Bowl victory. A game-saving first down catch off a fake punt earned him a scholarship and helped secure the school's first BCS Championship.

After earning a degree in filmmaking, Micah began his career in Hollywood, editing movie trailers for The Refinery AV in Burbank, California. During this time, he contributed to blockbuster campaigns for films such as Date Night, Knight and Day, and The A-Team. However, his passion for sports drew him back to his alma mater, where he created The Gridiron, an all-access web series for Kansas Football. Micah served as the series' primary cinematographer, editor, writer, and producer, bringing the project to life with his comprehensive skill set. The series quickly became a fan favorite, winning back-to-back regional Emmy Awards for Best Regularly Scheduled Sports Program. Its success set a new standard for college recruiting content, inspiring a wave of similar episodic programming across NCAA programs.

In 2012, Micah founded Second Wind Creative, transitioning from collegiate athletics to television networks. His expertise in field production and cinematography made him a sought-after contributor to award-winning programs like ESPN's College GameDay, E:60, NFL Countdown, and the critically acclaimed Netflix series Last Chance U. Micah's ability to combine compelling narratives with striking visuals led him to direct and produce major projects, including Draft Diaries (Uninterrupted) and NFL Undiscovered (NFL Network), which played a key role in expanding the NFL's international footprint.

In 2017, Micah made his feature documentary debut with Prison Fighters: 5 Rounds to Freedom, which explored a controversial Thai prison program allowing inmates to fight for their freedom. Praised for its complex moral narrative, the film earned a nomination for Documentary of the Year at the 2018 Cynopsis Awards.

Micah's career reached new heights when he joined ESPN's renowned 30 for 30 series, directing Chuck & Tito, a documentary chronicling the rivalry between MMA legends Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. The film was lauded as one of the best MMA documentaries ever produced, receiving widespread acclaim within the sports and entertainment industries.

In 2022, Micah served as Executive Producer, Showrunner, and Director for Peacock's WWE Evil, an eight-part series exploring the personas of WWE's most infamous villains. Despite a tight five-month production schedule, the series became one of Peacock's most-streamed originals, resonating strongly with WWE fans.

The following year, Micah helmed The Ride for Prime Video, an eight-episode series following the lives of professional bull riders in the PBR Team Series. The show debuted as Prime Video's #1 series and was praised for its raw and authentic portrayal of the Western lifestyle.

In 2023, Micah took on Coach Prime, Prime Video's Emmy-nominated docu-series chronicling Deion Sanders' first season as head coach at the University of Colorado. The six-part series offered an intimate look at one of college football's most high-profile teams and became the most-watched show on Prime Video upon release.

Micah followed up with Sign Stealer, a 75-minute documentary for Netflix's Untold series, which delved into the Michigan signal-stealing scandal involving former Marine Connor Stallions. Produced in just five months while the story was still unfolding, the documentary debuted as Netflix's #1 film and show in the same week.

In 2024, Micah returned to Coach Prime for its third season, chronicling Deion Sanders' final season coaching his sons and the team's remarkable turnaround. The series continued to garner critical and audience acclaim, cementing its place as one of Prime Video's most popular sports documentaries. Through his innovative storytelling and dedication to craft, Micah Brown has become one of the most influential voices in sports documentary filmmaking. His work continues to captivate audiences worldwide, blending authenticity, drama, and heart to create unforgettable narratives.
