Rap and fashion mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs filed a motion on Monday to dismiss the explosive civil case filed by Lil Rod, which accused Combs of grooming him and exposing him to several crimes, including drug trafficking, sexual assault and serving drug-laced cocktails at his infamous parties.

The motion in the Rodney Jones v. Sean Combs civil case was filed in the United States District Court in the Southern District of New York by defendants Sean Combs, Love Records, Inc. and Combs Global. Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. is also a defendant in the case, as is Universal Music honcho Lucian GraingeIt, along with various other powerful executives. The motion seeks to dismiss the Second Amended Complaint filed in February with prejudice, claiming that Jones is merely after unpaid income from his work with Diddy and that his attorney is fanning the flames of the dispute from behind the scenes.

If this were a typical year, by this point on Monday the winners would be known and their Emmys would be en route to shelves and safes across town. But since 2022’s calendar is decidedly not normal, and the Primetime Emmy Awards are still hours away, the Motion Picture & Television Fund had the honor of closing out the weekend with its 16th annual Evening Before the Emmys fundraiser in Los Angeles.

Mixing things up proved to be historic for the organization, as it raised a record-setting 3 million to support the 100-year-old nonprofit. The Century City party was treated to an electric performance by MPTF Board of Governors member Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, along with Snoop Dogg and special guests Flo Rida, Jeremih, Lil Tjay, Mann, O.T. Witnesses say someone in a white Porsche with New Jersey license plates fired at least 11 shots during filming in Brooklyn Tuesday at around 10:30 Pm. Rapper Troy Ave was among those wounded in a shooting before a T.I. concert at Irving Plaza in New York City's Union Square on Wednesday night, the 30-year-old's camp confirmed to Xxl magazine. Troy Ave was taken to Nyu Langone Medical Center for treatment after being shot in the leg. A man has been killed and three injured in a shooting at rapper T.I.'s concert in New York on Wednesday night (25May16).

The Live Your Life rapper was due to go on stage at the Irving Plaza venue in New York City when shots were fired around 10.15pm local time in the third floor green room area backstage. Opening acts Maino and Uncle Murda were performing at the time and T.I. was in the building.

People ran from backstage onto the concert floor, and video footage shows the crowd of around 1,000 fans frantically trying to evacuate the venue after hearing the gun shots.

“Right when he was about to go on I heard two gunshots, and right after, there was a stampede,” eyewitness Ayo Fagbemi told the New York Times. “There were at least three rounds, but after the second one was when people started running.”
