Disney's sizzle reel for Disney+/Hulu in 2025 offers peeks at Andor and more!

Disney has just offered the first peek at the Hulu/Disney+ 2025 slate, which has some fantastic new offerings!

Disney has had their issues with Disney+. The streamer has had difficulty with adding subscribers, issues of budgets and the controversial decision to remove many shows from it. That pertains to Hulu as well, although the latter benefits from having more studios involved in airing past programming and movies.

Things are turning around with Disney combining the two streamers into one and a partnership to add HBO too. Disney looks to have things set as a brand new “sizzle reel” celebrating the fifth anniversary of Disney+ has offered a peek at their 2025 TV slate, which includes the first looks at some huge projects!

Returning favorites are hot

The teaser includes the first looks at some of the biggest returning shows. Chief among them is Andor, as the acclaimed Star Wars series is back for its final season.

‘Eight is Enough’ Actor Willie Aames, Natalie Grace Topline ‘Armageddon Road’ Dark Comedy (Exclusive)

Willie Aames, best known for his teen actor roles in Eight is Enough and Charles in Charge, is set to star alongside Natalie Grace in the dark comedy Armageddon Road.

The indie, written, directed and produced by Karen Lam, is shooting in British Columbia. Set in Las Vegas in 1976, Armageddon Road follows a hapless ex-con hired by a mob boss to chauffeur his girlfriend for an evening, only to find his passenger dies of a cocaine overdose.

After her body is taken over by one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the driver is convinced to take her to what will be Armageddon in the Nevada desert. Opiate Pictures Inc. and Black Moon Media are producing the film that will use miniature sets created by Gary Young (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, The Predator and Godzilla) to be projected on an LED volume wall the actors will use as a backdrop for their performances.

Toonz, Gold Valley Films head to Cannes, partnering on six animated features

Toonz Feature Film Division president Ariel Veneziano and Gold Valley Films head of international Allen Tsang have announced a co-production and co-financing partnership on six animated features over the next three years and are joining forces on sales of their entire combined slates in Cannes.

Currently in production, Pierre The Pigeon-Hawk features the voice talent of musician will.i.am in the title role alongside Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus), Luis Guzmán, Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls), rapper Snoop Dogg, and Whoopi Goldberg and Howie Mandel.

Toonz Feature Film & Gold Valley Films Strike Six-Picture Deal Including ‘Pierre The Pigeon-Hawk’ – Cannes Market

The recently launched Toonz Feature Film and China’s Golden Valley Films have struck a co-production and co-financing deal for six animated pictures over the course of the next three years.

The companies will also jointly oversee the sale and distribution of the titles, kicking off at the upcoming Cannes Market where executives of both companies will work side-by-side out of the same offices.

The titles include Pierre The Pigeon-Hawk, led by songwriter and rapper will.i.am as the titular protagonist in the voice cast with other members including Jennifer Coolidge, Luis Guzmán, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Whoopi Goldberg and Howie Mandel.

The film, which is due for delivery in 2024, was previously announced as being sold internationally by The Highland Group but the company is no longer involved in the project. CAA Media Finance is handling domestic sales.

The slate also features Toonz and Gold Valley China’s previously announced co-production Little Emma.

US-China outfit to showcase 50 minutes of the animated feature to market buyers.

US-China animation studio Gold Valley Films (Gvf) is to showcase upcoming feature Little Emma at the EFM.

The first 50 minutes of the animation will be screened to buyers at the market in Berlin this week ahead of a planned delivery in Q2 this year. The film is directed by Leo Lewis and Isabella Blanco from a script by Sean Lamb.

The voice cast is led by Natalie Grace (T-Rex Ranch) as Emma, a miniature girl adopted by animal parents who yearns to learn the truth about her past.

Chance the Rapper is getting married! The rapper proposed to his longtime girlfriend Kirsten Corley during a family barbecue on Wednesday, July 4. In a video posted by the Shade Room, Chance (whose real name is Chancelor Jonathan Bennett) can be seen getting down on one knee and saying, "Kirsten Katrina Corley, will you make me a man and be my wife?" Chance later confirmed their engagement on Twitter simply writing, "She said yes." Their friends and family also posted a few pictures of the newly engaged couple on social media. Chance and Kirsten first started dating in 2013, and share a two-year-old daughter named Kensli. Congrats to the happy pair!
