The upcoming TV anime adaptation of the Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord: Production Magic Turns a Nameless Village into the Strongest Fortified City fantasy light novel series created by Sou Akaie (story) and Kururi (illustrations) is set to premiere in 2026. The anime's official website announced the news today. The site also revealed the anime's three main voice cast members below: Yumi Uchiyama (Puck in Re:zero -Starting Life in Another World ) voices Van, the protagonist who is reborn into an aristocratic family and has been called a child prodigy since childhood. Van / Yumi Usvhiyama Mao (Shion in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ) voices Till, Van's personal maid who has served him since childhood and dotes on him like a younger brother. Till / Mao Mariya Ise (Killua Zoldyck in Hunter × Hunter ) voices Khamshin, who has a deep loyalty to Van since he saved his life in the past.

The original creator of a fan-favorite isekai series has delivered something of a reality check to his fans and critics. Rifujin na Magonot, the author behind the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novels, on which the hit anime is based, recently took to social media for the unfiltered message.

"I'm happy when I receive praise, sad when I receive criticism, and hurt when I receive slander or abuse, but no matter what people say, I'll write what I want to write, so nothing will change," said Rifujin na Magonot in a clear declaration of creative autonomy, adding, "I write what I like, how I like it, so don't get that wrong. Love comes first, people second. You guys are always last. Sorry."

The fan-favorite Re:Zero anime characters Emilia, Rem and Ram inspire limited-edition watches, necklaces, and wallets in a new collaboration.

The second season of Shangri-La Frontier is rolling out a new arc, titled Ggc (Global Game Competition). The anime’s staff recently revealed a fresh visual and cast members for the upcoming arc.

Yumi Uchiyama will voice Megumi Natsume, a pro gamer who fights in the game world as a member of Kei Uomi’s (Oikatzo) Nitro Squad team. Another new cast member, Minami Takahashi, will play Sylvia Goldberg, the only female member of StarRain, one of the top fighting teams from the U.S.

The second season of the anime began airing on October 13, and it will run for two consecutive cours (about six months). Fans can watch it on Crunchyroll, which streams both the subbed and English dubbed versions. The opening theme, ‘Frontiers’, is performed by Awich, and the ending theme, ‘realitYhurts’, is by Cvlte.

The first season of Shangri-La Frontier premiered in October 2023 across 28 Mbs/TBS networks.

The Sakamoto Days anime cast is growing by two today as voice actors Yasuhiro Mamiya and Yumi Uchiyama are joining as hardened assassins Boiled and Obiguro , respectively. The anime adaptation of Yuuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days is picking up steam, with fresh details dropping for its upcoming fourth episode. Two more cast members were revealed recently: Yasuhiro Mamiya will play Boiled, while Yumi Uchiyama will voice Obiguro. Fans also got a sneak peek through a preview video (see below), hyping the episode even more.

The show kicked off its run on January 11 on TV Tokyo and other networks, hitting Netflix the same day. Netflix confirmed ‘Part 1’ will have 11 weekly episodes, with ‘Part 2’ slated for release this July.

The anime has a strong team behind it. Masaki Watanabe, known for Kado – The Right Answer and Bartender, is directing at Tms Entertainment. Taku Kishimoto, who worked on Haikyu!! and Bluelock, is in charge of the scripts. Yō Moriyama, recognized for his work on Lupin the IIIrd: Goemon’s Blood Spray, is designing the characters.

While not every great anime starts out that way, there are some incredible series that blow viewers' minds with the very first episode. These series later go on to prove just how good they are, but it's their first episodes that really set the tone for what they're going for. There's a common "three-episode rule" in the world of anime that states that a viewer shouldn't drop a series until they've given the show at least three episodes. Some series only need a third of that.

It's hard to nail the first episode of an anime, especially if the series needs to tell the story of a prologue before the events of the series. Most series' first episodes are somewhere around 22 minutes long without commercials or opening/closing music, making it incredibly difficult to captivate audiences right away. In some anime, reincarnations lead to new lives that are just as bad, if not worse, than those experienced by the protagonist beforehand. The result is usually a dark series that completely goes against expectations.

The darkest isekai anime and manga change the game for the genre, going against the power fantasy grain for stories that are much bleaker. Some of this involves the harsh reality of the genre, with different elements played straight compared to most isekai. On the other hand, some of these works are simply as tragic as can be, throwing their heroes into increasingly horrible situations that make them wish they were reincarnated as just about anything else.

Nearly five years after the original anime ended, Fairy Tail is finally returning with a sequel. Fans don’t have to wait much longer, as the Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest anime just confirmed its July release date.

The show’s premiere was announced alongside the release of a new key visual that highlighted the anime’s main characters.

What’s more, three new voice cast members were revealed, and they will voice new characters that will play big roles in the story.

Japanese rock band Hitorie will perform the opening theme song “On The Frontline,” while singer-songwriter Yuko Oohara will perform the ending theme song “Mamoritai Mono”.

The official website of Mushoku Tensei announced on Feb 3, 2024, that that the second cour of season 2 of the anime is set to release on April 7, 2024, and will air every Sunday.

The announcement is accompanied by a new trailer and key visual. The visual depicts not only Rudeus and Sylphy, but also Rudeus’ two younger sisters, Norn and Aisha.

Mushoku Tensei season 2 cour 1 started airing July 2, 2023, and will run till September 2023, followed by the second cour scheduled for April 2024 to June 2024.

The season will have a total of 25 episodes.
