Mickey O'Sullivan(I)

Mickey O'Sullivan is an accomplished actor known for his outstanding performances in various film and television projects. Born to hardworking Irish parents in New York City, he discovered his love for storytelling at a young age and pursued it with unwavering determination.

After completing high school, Mickey O'Sullivan enrolled in the renowned theater program at Illinois State University, famous for being the soil where some of the renowned Steppenwolf Theatre founding artists like Jeff Perry and John Malkovich trained. He spent 4 years taking almost exclusively courses in the theater program, resulting in 4 years of nonstop acting experience but no formal degree.

During the school year and over the summers in Normal, Illinois, Mickey's approach of saying yes to every opportunity that came his way allowed him to gain incredibly profound experiences working with visiting professionals, teachers, and graduate students alike. He delved into a wide range of projects, from big budget to no budget, including Shakespeare, New Plays, American Classics, abstract works, Puppetry, film, and improv.

His breakthrough in the entertainment industry came when he landed a role only weeks after moving to NYC in a Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright's Bryn Manion's new play, WAKE, which garnered critical acclaim and put him on the radar of industry insiders. However, it was Mickey's recurring roles in two popular television series that propelled him to wider recognition and acclaim. His portrayal of complex characters showcased his versatility as an actor and won him a dedicated fanbase. Throughout his career, Mickey continued to take on diverse roles, fearlessly embracing new challenges and delivering compelling performances.

Mickey O'Sullivan's training journey has been consistent, rich and diverse.

Outside of his training at Illinois State University. He has trained at Accomplished On Camera under the guidance of Brittani Ward, honing his skills for on-camera work. At Blackbox Acting Studio, AJ Links has further nurtured his talents, pushing him to explore the depths of his characters in the on camera audition. Mickey also delved into the world of comedy with Lesly Kahn & Co, gaining a better understanding of character thoughts and script analysis. Improv at UCB-NYC, Second City & The Annoyance Chicago, allowed him to embrace spontaneity and quick thinking.

To excel in auditions, Mickey worked with experienced coaches like Matt Miller of TV Lands "Teachers", Executive Director of casting at ABC - Marci Phillips, Erika Jensen of Calleri Casting, and Sarah Cayce of Compass Casting sharpening his audition techniques and impressing casting directors. To balance his training with a more classical approach, he also learned from the esteemed Larry Yando at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.

For Scene Study Mickey spent a brief period studying with the incredible professionals at Michael Howard Studios, where he further refined his acting skills, immersing himself in the diverse and dynamic atmosphere of New York's theatrical community. Throughout his journey, Mickey's dedication to continuous learning and growth has paved the way for his success as a versatile and accomplished actor.
