Caroline Strong was born in Liverpool, England in 1963, one of seven children to Capt. Terence Strong RA (retired) and Jeanne Strong, Matron of Garston Hospital. She was educated at Notre Dame Prep School and later Notre Dame, High School Woolton and her love of acting was nurtured in after school classes at The Mckee School of Dance and Drama, Allerton. Later she gained a BA Joint Hons' Degree in English Literature and Drama (2:1) from the University of London and then went on to take a Diploma in Acting at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in Kensington, London.

She has enjoyed a successful career as a character actress in Television, Theatre and Radio for over thirty five years. Regular roles have included Margaret in the ITV series Island at War, Margaret-Ann in the BBC comedy series Thin Ice, Mel Doland in the YTV Soap Emmerdale and DC Cathy Cooper in Prime Suspect. She has over forty TV credits and over one hundred episode listings. Theatre credits include seasons at the Royal National Theatre (Olivier), The Liverpool Playhouse, Oldham Coliseum and the Library Theatre, Manchester. She was a member of the BBC Radio Drama Company at Broadcasting House, London and her numerous credits for BBC Radio 4, 3 and The World Service include Georgy in the six part adaptation of Georgy Girl by Margaret Forster for which she was nominated for a Radio Times Award (Best New Actress, Radio Comedy). She also played Myra Savage opposite Robert Glenister in the Radio adaptation of the dark thriller, Seance on a Wet Afternoon by Mark McShane, produced in Scotland by Bruce Young for BBC Radio 4. She works regularly as a Voice Artist for audio drama and commercials.

After moving to Scotland, she began directing and producing Natural History output, for the independent documentary film company Mousehole Films. She directs, writes, produces and narrates for the company, along side Danny Strong (AKA Danny Bean) and Gabriel Strong (AKA Gabriel Bean), talented directors, cinematographers and editors. Documentary feature The Village on the Loch marked her directing debut and won 14 awards on the festival circuit. The company has three further documentary features in production or post production; Re-wilding and Conservation are subjects very close to her heart. She is also a published poet and her collection 'A Proof of Light' is in support of the Scottish animal welfare charity OneKind.
