Executive secretary for Hugh Hefner. In a press conference after her death, he accused then-U.S. Attorney James R. Thompson of murder, claiming that Thompson had used her in a calculated effort to destroy him. Arnstein was arrested in March 1974 by federal narcotics agents, and charged with conspiring to transport cocaine from Miami to Chicago; she denied the charges. The investigation was dropped in December 1975 after the two men arrested with Arnstein refused immunity deals to testify against Hefner.
