Amir was born in Bournemouth, Dorset, United Kingdom. He grew up working as a welder at a young age. He then progressed and studied acting and made a number of films and commercials in his early 20s. Amir had never been to acting school. He learned from applying to student films and networking as a background artist. He landed his first role in a TV series called Cloud 9 as a Dr and completed 88 episodes.
