The Efp (European Film Promotion) has named its ten best up and coming talents to be honoured as European Shooting Stars during the 69th Berlin International Film Festival in 2019.

In its 22nd year, the European Shooting Stars has taken the best from Europe in the industry who they deem are ready to step out onto the international film scene by a jury of industry experts.

Elliott Crosset Hove from Denmark swayed the jury with his “raw ability to shift from transparent vulnerability to intimidation” in Winter Brothers, for which he won the Best Actor Award at the Locarno and Vilinus Film Festivals, and a Robert, the Danish Academy Award.

Rea Lest-Liik from Estonia impressed with her “fierceness, forcefulness and passion” depicted in November.

The youngest up-and-coming star is Emma Drogunova from Germany.

Aisling Franciosi (“The Nightingale”), Ardalan Esmaili (“The Charmer”) and Elliott Crosset Hove (“Winter Brothers”) are among the 10 actors and actresses who have been named as the European Film Promotion’s Shooting Stars.

European Film Promotion (Efp) has named the 10 actors for the 2019 edition of its European Shooting Stars, which showcases up-and-coming acting talent from across the continent.

This year’s list includes Aisling Franciosi, a Screen Star of Tomorrow in 2014. Franciosi recently had a lead role in Jennifer Kent’s The Nightingale, which premiered at Venice in September.

Also included are Milan Marić, who played the title role in Berlinale 2018 title Dovlatov, the biopic of Russian writer Sergei Dovlatov; and Elliott Crosset Hove, who won the best actor award at Locarno and Vilnius...

Ten projects from South-East Europe, Middle East and North Africa comprise Sarajevo’s Work in Progress section.

Sarajevo Film Festival’s (Aug 12-20) Works in Progress strand is set to present the line-up of projects, which will compete for three awards during the festival’s Industry Days on Aug 17-18.

Ten projects in post-production - from Southeast Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region - will be screened to about 40 industry decision-makers who are active on the supply end of the chain: funders, sales agents, distributors, broadcasters and festival programmers.

Prizes will include the traditional post-production in-kind awards from Slovenia’s Restart (€20,000) and Berlin-based The Post Republic (€50,000), as well as a newly established €30,000 cash prize from Turkish broadcaster Trt.
