Back in August, Lifetime ordered a two-hour Britney Spears biopic that was set to start filming in Vancouver, for a 2017 premiere on the cable network. While the network still hasn't announced an exact premiere date yet, they did release 10 new photos today, giving us our first look at actress Natasha Bassett as Britney Spears. These photos also give us our first look at Nathan Keyes as Britney Spears' ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, and Clayton Chitty as her ex-husband Kevin Federline. And they are slightly cringe-inducing.

Among these images from Lifetime include other members of Justin Timberlake's 1990s boy band N'Sync. We get our first look at Zac Vran as Jc Chasez, Frankie Cena as Chris Kirkpatrick, Connor Paton as Lance Bass and Matt Visser as Joey Fatone. Lifetime has released new photos from its upcoming Britney Spears biopic, a day ahead of the pop princess's 35th birthday.

On Thursday, the cable network debuted several pics that show actress Natasha Bassett, who plays Spears, recreating both personal and professional moments in the Grammy winner's life including her wedding to Kevin Federline and romance with Justin Timberlake.

Bassett and actor Clayton Chitty, who plays Federline, are all smiles in shots depicting the former couple's wedding day. Other pics feature Bassett posing for a photo shoot and snuggling up to Timberlake, played by Nathan Keyes.

A day before Britney Spears’ 35th birthday (December 2), the folks over at Lifetime released a handful of photos from the upcoming singer’s biopic, and boy were we confused.

The images feature the Princess of Pop (Natasha Bassett) – which in the glam pic looks more like a 2008 Taylor Swift – along with her then-beau Justin Timberlake (Nathan Keyes), ex-husband Kevin Federline (Clayton Chitty) and the rest of the *Nsync crew, none of which actually look like the real-life celebrities.

Lifetime has a knack for casting actors who tend to not look like the celebrities they are portraying, e.g., Amanda Fuller in “The Brittany Murphy Story,” Camilla Luddington and Nico Evers-Swindel in “William & Kate,” so it’s not surprising to see such unrecognizable faces portraying the stars. (Really, that’s supposed to be *Nsync?!)

Pop princess Britney Spears is getting the Lifetime biopic treatment, and People has the first images of Natasha Bassett as Spears and Clayton Chitty as Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline.

People had the exclusive photos of Spears and Federline’s wedding day back in September 2004, and the current issue of the magazine features images of Bassett and Chitty recreating their nuptials.

The real-life Spears filed for divorce from Federline in November 2006, just two months after giving birth to their second child, Jayden James.
