A native of Beijing, Liu Yulin earned an MFA from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. In 2014, her shorts film Men shen (2013) wins the 41st Student Academy Awards in Narrative Category, among 10 other international awards and it was also selected for more than 50 film festivals around world. Yi ju ding yi wan ju (2016) To is her feature directorial debut.
