Originally from Devon, he moved to live in Hampshire when he joined the Royal Navy in 1986.

He is a Royal Navy Submarine Service communications department veteran and served just under 8 years until his medical discharge in 1993, he joined in 1986.

He has 4 siblings of which one also went into theatre work for a brief period of time.

He then went back to university, graduated as a telecommunications engineer and worked in the electronics industry for 16 years before becoming a professional supporting artiste in 2017.
