Kariné Marwood

Kariné Marwood has had a passion for film and storytelling since she was a child in her hometown of Thornhill, Ontario. Choosing a career in the sciences rather than the arts, it wasn't until she completed her M.B.A. that she finally decided to take a chance and turn her passion into a career. She left the corporate world and attended a screenwriting course that would change her life forever. Together with her best bud since high school, Julie Kim, she co-founded Toronto-based Skyword Productions and Entertainment Inc., entered screenwriting competitions and pitch seminars, honed her craft and eventually became a produced screenwriter. Today, Kariné happily writes full time, proving that through hard work, dedication and tenacity, it's possible to overcome the odds and make dreams come true. Kariné is a member of the Writers Guild of Canada and shares a 2025 Canadian Screen Award nomination with Julie Kim for Best Writing of a TV movie for Curious Caterer: Foiled Plans.
