The zombie has been a horror staple for decades, but the undead may finally have met their match in the form of a Muay Thai fighter who finds himself battling his way through the hordes to save his girlfriend. Thus reads the thrilling elevator pitch for a new Netflix action horror series, with the streamer having now unleashed the brutal and bloody first trailer.

Kaimook orchestrates an intricate revenge plot filled with betrayals and power plays. Phupat and Mawin's feud distracts viewers from Kaimook's master plan. A dramatic showdown reveals Kaimook's machinations and the fate of the wealthy family.
Netflix has always seemed to have a keen eye when it comes to international selections and its latest drama a Thai production is no different. Created by producer-director-writer Kulp Kaljareuk, Master of the House comes across as more sadistic than any series youve probably already seen in this class-clashing genre. The seven-episode limited series which premiered on July 18th will easily shock American audiences with every entry. In the first episode alone, there is a surprise marriage between the patriarch Rungroj and the housekeeper Kaimook. In the usual jaw-dropping fashion though, things go awry when the very same senior figure mysteriously dies just a few minutes later.
Before the viewer can even ask questions about...

Netflix's Master Of The House is a Thai drama featuring an all-Thai cast. Several actors from the cast are well-known for starring in Thai dramas, such as Narilya Gulmongkolpech, Chartayodom Hiranyasthiti, and Claudia Chakrabandhu Na Ayudhya. However, other cast members, such as Nathakorn Traikitsyavet and Nuttanan Kunpat, are lesser known. Bifan has established itself as one of the most significant festivals in Asia regarding the genre cinema of the region, with their program always being quite interesting through its focus on Korean cinema firstly and then of Japan and the rest of the region, along with a number of international titles. As such, the fact that the local industry is in trouble was more than evident this year, when genre movies in particular suffered, mostly due to issues with writing and also due to financial ones. It is true that Korea's top filmmakers are at the top of the world, but it has become obvious that below that level, the quality drops significantly.
Nevertheless, the aforementioned does not mean that the programs was without a number of gems. “Iron Mask” about a kendo athlete carrying a trauma, “Her Hobby” with its transition from a family drama to a horror and...

That playing games has become a proper profession, with people actually competing against each other in arenas filled with audiences, is a fact that has been going on for years. As with every new money-making opportunity, though, corruption and illegal by-products do appear, with “The Up Rank” dealing with the concept of rank boosting in popular mobile shooting games, where good players earn money to raise the rank of others.
“The Up Rank” is screening at Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival
U is a young gamer, whose father is constantly bugging for help in the print shop he runs on his own, but to no avail, as the kid's mind is definitely on other things. The Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) has announced six Thai works from rising filmmakers for this year’s Project Spotlight in the Network of Asian Fantastic Films (Naff).
PiFan’s Project Spotlight takes a different Asian country each year to focus on selected genre film projects.
The seventh edition of Naff lauds Thailand as recently “running strong with its genre films of unique subject matters and techniques” and the filmmakers for the six selected projects as up-and-coming on the international stage.
Off his recent film Hong Hun featuring Ananda Everingham, Kulp Kaljareuk will bring mystery thriller Fallen Thailand as his next feature, with Nattaporn Kaljareuk producing. With shades of political commentary, the story is set in 2035 and features a Thai boxer battling zombies in a quarantined hospital to save his wife, a nurse, and help a lost child find his mother.
