Other notable performances include her portrayal of Rachel Winslow, an ambitious musician, in In His Steps (2013), filmed in the Colorado rockies and based on the bestselling faith-based novel by Charles Sheldon; and a strong supporting role in Stolen Life (2015), a moving historical drama filmed in a palace on location in Croatia.

Laura's career began with a supporting role in The Kois: Fish Out of Water (2009), where she played a posh teenager finding her voice as a singer and pianist in an all-girls high school rock band. Laura contributed both vocals and piano to the film's soundtrack, and the film received three nominations in the AMPIA Rosie Awards.
She went on to star in Inner Quest (2010), a poignant story about friendship across cultural divides. In her role as a free-spirited "westerner" defending her Muslim friend against prejudice, Laura's performance contributed to the film earning a Canadian Film Critics Award and an Award of Merit from The Accolade Film Festival.
Following the tragic loss of a friend, Laura channeled her grief into music-writing and recording a tribute song that ultimately helped her book the lead role of Rachel Winslow in In His Steps (2013). The Dove Foundation praised Laura's performance, stating she "stands out as Rachel Winslow, and has a real singing talent."
Following her performance in In His Steps (2013), Laura was flown to Croatia, Europe, for a supporting role in Stolen Life (2015), a powerful true story of an impossible love between an aristocrat girl and a peasant boy from the 1900s.
After returning to Canada, Laura attempted to relocated from her rural home in Alberta to seek opportunities in Toronto, Ontario-but soon returned to move in with and care for her grandmother who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. This deeply personal experience became the inspiration for her short film, Heartsong: Silver Lining (2016), which she wrote and produced with a $10,000 grant from TELUS STORYHIVE.
A personal career milestone came with her appearance in Higher Ground (2022) (Season 16, Episode 5), Canada's longest-running one-hour drama, based on Laura's favorite book series from her teen years. Starring as Wren Williams in Lifetime's Finding a Killer (2023) was a culmination of over 15 years of training, auditioning, and honing her craft as an actor.
Apart from acting, Laura is also musical and an accomplished equestrian, having begun riding lessons at just six years old. She competed in a variety of English disciplines including stadium jumping, dressage and eventing. She later transitioned out of competing and started a business training and selling horses to fund her few first years of acting classes. Today, she makes a living as a storyteller between her work as an actor, voice over artist, and audiobook narrator.
