You can add director to Brooke Shields’ long resume. The actress will helm Chicago at the Hollywood Bowl this July, the show’s producers announced Tuesday. The annual summer musical will play at the Bowl in Los Angeles for only three performances: July 26, 27, and 28.

Warren Carlyle to Choreograph Kelli O'Hara-Led Carousel at New York Philharmonic, 2/27-3/2
According to an Equity castng notice, the New York Philharmonic's staged production of Rodgers amp Hammerstein's Carousel February 27-March 2, 2013 will feature choreography by Warren Carlyle. The evening will feature Kelli O'Hara as Julie Jordan, Nathan Gunn as Billy Bigelow, Stephanie Blythe as Nettie Fowler, and Alexander Gemignani as Enoch Snow. The production will be directed by John Rando, replacing the previously announced James Brennan due to scheduling conflicts, and conducted by Rob Fisher.

New York Philharmonic to Stage Carousel in 2013; PBS to Televise Concert
The New York Phiharmonic has just announced the 2012-13 season, which is set to include a staged production of Rodgers amp Hammersteins Broadway hit Carousel, February 27March 2, 2013, directed by James Brennan and conducted by Rob Fisher the same team behind the Philharmonics acclaimed 2007 production of My Fair Lady. Mr. Brennan, who is also an actor and choreographer, has directed performances on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theater. Mr. Fisher is the founding director of New York City Centers Encores series, and has been a part of numerous productions and projects.

Pilot casting is starting to heat up, and several actors familiar to TV fans have landed roles. The latest:

- Jessica Lucas, one of the better things about The CW's ill-fated "Melrose Place" reboot, will return to the network for its drama pilot "Cult," from writer Rockne S. O'Bannon ("Farscape") and "Gossip Girl" executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. She'll star as a production assistant on a TV show who begins to suspect some of its fans are re-creating crimes from the series. [Deadline]

- A pair of multiple Emmy winners are in talks to star in NBC's adaptation of the Britcom "Friday Night Dinner." Allison Janney and Tony Shalhoub would play the parents of two grown children who come home for a Shabbat dinner every Friday. In the episode titled "Home Invasions," Austin will play Rob Fisher, the boyfriend of a girl whose family is massacred. No air date for the episode has been set yet.

"It's an honor to be a part of such a respected series," Austin said in a statement to The Huffington Post. "Being a New Yorker myself, I'm a huge fan of the show and can't wait to start filming."

"Wizards of Waverly Place" recently aired its final season. The finale was watched by 9.8 million viewers.
