He picked up martial arts at the age of 5. Besides MMA and Tae Kwon Do, he originally trained in Judo, Karate, Jujutsu and Wushu. He even trained with Shaolin monks, before transitioning to boxing and Muay Thai. Later, he gave up his degree in art and design in his final year at Nottingham Trent University to pursue MMA full-time.
