Real Reason Why “Life & Beth” Will Not Return for Season 3
Image
The world of entertainment is not just a fairyland for actors, directors, and screenwriters to unleash their creativity but it is also a highly competitive field where projects often end up dead before they can even take flight. While one cannot miss what they have never seen, it certainly hurts when a project is taken off air due to one or the other reason. And that is exactly the case for Life & Beth and the millions of fans of the series.

Life & Beth (2022-2024) | Credit: Hulu

Despite having an intriguing premise, with instances inspired by lead star Amy Schumer’s real-life experience, the show has been taken off the air, stirring the emotions of its devoted fan base. Created and led by Schumer, the series struck a delicate balance between humor and heartfelt storytelling, resonating deeply with viewers who saw themselves reflected in its relatable themes.

Benedict Cumberbatch Joins Green Rider Movement as Hollywood Becomes a Force at Climate Week
Image
Held in partnership with the United Nations General Assembly, New York’s Climate Week is a massive, decentralized festival that this year ballooned to 900 events taking place all across the city from Sept. 22 to 29. This year, Hollywood names — from Matt Damon and Benedict Cumberbatch to heads of sustainability at Netflix, NBCUniversal and Paramount Global — took a prominent role, taking part in panel discussions, speeches, film screenings and even a vegan hot dog truck (thanks Rainn Wilson).

The confab also saw the debut of the inaugural Climate Film Festival, where 59 films — including such titles as Ecocide, Farming While Black, Hot & Toxic, and The Wild Robot — unspooled over 72 hours, along with a keynote speech by wildlife filmmaker James Honeyborne.

“Climate Week is the nexus of so many things. It’s always a place to learn what’s going on,” René Jones, chief of social impact at UTA, tells The Hollywood Reporter. She...

It’s a Tuesday morning in late July, and at a gigantic warehouse-turned-production facility in L.A.’s Canoga Park, Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson are in one studio riffing on the Summer Olympics. On the other side of the building, comedian Earthquake is recording a podcast. Meanwhile, between that building, another nearby and a third in West Hollywood, teams of staffers are running around, working on one of the two dozen other projects across TV, film, audio, branded entertainment and experiential events that Hart’s entertainment company, Hartbeat, has in the pipeline.

You know Kevin Hart, the comedian and star of films like “Ride Along,” “Central Intelligence” and the just released “Borderlands.” But he’d really like you to think of him as Kevin Hart, production maven. ‘Life & Beth’ Axed After 2 Seasons At Hulu
Image
Amy Schumer’s Life & Beth is no longer.

Hulu has canceled the dramedy after two seasons. The move is not a huge surprise as the second season finished in February, and while Hulu obviously didn’t release any viewing data, it failed to crack Nielsen’s streaming list.

Written, directed, executive produced and starring Schumer, Life & Beth follows Beth (Schumer), whose life looks pretty great on paper. Impressive to everyone she grew up with, she makes a good living as a wine distributor. She’s in a long-term relationship with an attractive, successful guy and lives in Manhattan. But when a sudden incident forces her to engage with her past, her life changes forever.

Watch Jennifer Coolidge Tell Amy Schumer Her Future in ‘Life & Beth’ Season 2
Image
Amy Schumer booked a recognizable psychic for the second season of her Hulu series Life & Beth.

As the trailer revealed, Jennifer Coolidge makes a cameo in Schumer’s follow-up season. And now a new clip, dropped on Thursday, shows nearly two minutes of the anticipated scene, which comes in the third episode of the 10-episode season, which releases in full on Thursday.

Playing a New Orleans psychic named Madame de Merde, the Emmy-winning White Lotus actress has been booked for a reading by Beth (Schumer), who brings another season two guest character — played by Amy Sedaris — along for the appointment. As the teaser shows, however, Beth doesn’t exactly get a good vibe during their introduction.

Schumer shared a fun fact with The Hollywood Reporter that Coolidge and Sedaris’ roles were originally flipped, with Coolidge initially set to play the New Orleans wedding planner ultimately played by Sedaris, and...

Celebrity product pitches date back to the days of leather helmets, of course, but in the increasingly rare air of the Super Bowl they have started to overtake the left-field breakouts of the past by the likes of Puppy Monkey Baby or beer-loving frogs. Amy Schumer’s ‘Life & Beth’ Shifts the Comedian Into a More Passive, Introspective Gear: TV Review
Image
“Life & Beth,” Amy Schumer’s new show for Hulu, unfolds in three distinct acts. The first sees Beth (Schumer) as a wine salesperson in Manhattan who’s quietly miserable with her job and in her relationship to Matt (Kevin Kane), a “New York 8” who treats her like an inconvenient afterthought. The second act sends her to her hometown on Long Island, where she meets and falls for John (Michael Cera), a vineyard farmer whose lifestyle and blunt charm shows her the possibility of a different kind of life. The final act, unfolding over the season’s last two episodes, has Beth confront her own mortality and dive deeper into the childhood that made her want to get so far away from Long Island in the first place.

The series is a new kind of venture for star, writer, and director Schumer, who’s long been known for a louder,...

‘Life & Beth’ Review: Amy Schumer’s Hulu Series Is an Ambitious Look at Adapting in Adulthood
Image
Selling is an act of disappearing on “Life & Beth.” You sell best by asking questions, nodding, dispatching a well-timed “staaaaaahp” meant to connote active listening in the key of sorority sister. You sell by making buyers feel interesting to someone other than themselves.

Amy Schumer, returning to television for the first time since Comedy Central’s shrewd “Inside Amy Schumer” finished in 2016, plays Beth, a wine rep with a talent for puffery. But the 10-episode Hulu series picks up on the day her ennui spills over into her sales pitch. Beth has a boyfriend she doesn’t love, a career that doesn’t suit her interests, and a Manhattan address that looks better on other people’s wedding invitations than it feels to go home to. We’ve seen Schumer in the throes of an early onset midlife crisis before, but never with this much raw sincerity. Beth’s arrested development,...

Amy Schumer and her Besties Prefer Shopping Versus the Club in ‘Life & Beth’ Trailer
Image
Amy Schumer’s Life & Beth is coming to Hulu next month — and its joke-stacked, silly trailer gives a look inside her character Beth’s shenanigans.

Beth works as a wine distributor and has a longterm relationship with a wealthy guy, who’s not all that. “My boyfriend always says I seem like I’m a hundred, but at this point I’m just following him around like some sad-” she says, before another character adds, “loser.” Needless to say, Beth is “ready for a new start.” (And he doesn’t take the breakup so well.

Six years since “Inside Amy Schumer” ended, the popular comedian is making her return to scripted television with Hulu’s “Life & Beth.”

Directed by, written by and starring Schumer, “Life and Beth” follows its titular character in two pivotal periods of her life: as a teenager, played by Violet Young, and as a successful wine distributor approaching 40, played by Schumer. Peacock Shares First Look at Craig Robinson Comedy Series ‘Killing It;’ Hulu Announces ‘Life and Beth’ Premiere Date (TV News Roundup)
Image
Peacock has shared the first look at its new upcoming comedy series “Killing It,” streaming this April.

Created by “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” producers Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, “Killing It” stars Craig Robinson as Craig, a man who competes in a state-sponsored python hunt in his quest to achieve the American Dream. The series co-stars Stephanie Nogueras as Craig’s ex-wife Camille, Jet Miller as his pre-teen daughter Vanessa and Rell Battle as his younger brother Isaiah. Claudia O’Doherty, Scott Macarthur and Wyatt Walter round out the cast.

“We love all the ambitious, challenging, thematically-rich series that populate the current peak-tv landscape,” said Goor in a statement. “We also love jokes. So, we tried to make a show that could deliver both. We wanted ‘Killing It’ to explore America’s quasi-religious obsession with entrepreneurship and wealth, and we also wanted it to be funny. Really, really funny. Plus, we wanted it to have big snakes.
