Exclusive: Los Angeles-based Premiere Entertainment Group has acquired worldwide rights to romantic comedy Plan B, starring Emmy-award winner Jamie Lee (HBO’s Crashing) and Jon Heder.
Premiere Entertainment will launch worldwide sales of the film at the upcoming American Film Market with all territories currently available.
Directed by first-timer Brandon Tamburri, from an original screenplay by Tamburri and Jean Monpere, Plan B follows the story of Piper, a young woman who, against better judgment, decides to sleep with a successful businessman and tells him he’s the father of her unborn baby after a one-night stand with her awkward neighbor leaves her pregnant.
The Joke Zero and Future Proof Films pic is produced by DJ Dodd, Erika Hampson, and Tamburri. Cast also includes Oscar Nominee Tom Berenger, Shannon Elizabeth, and SAG Award Winner Kate Flannery (NBC’s The Office). Rounding out the ensemble cast are Michael Lombardi (FX’s Rescue Me), Subhah Agarwal (HBO’s Westworld), Daniel K. Isaac (Showtime’s Billions), NFL star Vernon Davis, and Danielle Perez (A24’s Dicks: The Musical).
Full Synopsis reads: After a fun night out, rebellious writer Piper (Jamie Lee) drunkenly sleeps with her awkward neighbor, Evan (Jon Heder), and winds up pregnant. When she attempts to tell Evan the news, Piper quickly realizes that he’s not the long-term guy for her and the baby. After receiving news from publishing exec Jane (Kate Flannery) that her dream of a book deal is coming to fruition, she needs to find a stable relationship – and quick. Going against the advice of her best friend Maya (Subhah Agarwal), Piper opts to keep the pregnancy a secret until she can find a more successful guy to sleep with and hopefully start a family.
After a few failed and comical attempts at finding a match, Piper stumbles into Cameron (Michael Lombardi), a financial advisor and regular at the café she works at. Everything appears to be going as planned as Cameron falls for Piper and is ecstatic about the pregnancy. Cameron introduces Piper to his parents Joe (Tom Berenger) and Diane and fends off advances from his flirty boss Anne (Shannon Elizabeth) along the way. While juggling her double life, Piper continues to bump into her neighbor Evan, who has no idea that he is the father of her soon-to-be-born baby. However, Piper’s evil scheme starts to unravel when she starts second-guessing herself, realizing that she could be making the biggest mistake of her life.
Carlos Rincon, SVP of acquisitions at Premiere Entertainment, negotiated the deal with producer DJ Dodd on behalf of Joke Zero and Future Proof Films.
“This film has been a labor of love for me, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Premiere is the perfect partner for us, and I’m excited to be working with them,” Tamburri said.
DJ Dodd, Owner of Future Proof Films, added: “We are very proud of the film we’ve made through the immense hard work of all of our cast and crew. Making this film has been a fun ride, and we can’t wait to introduce it to the world.”...

Game shows have been a staple of the world's television-viewing diet since the medium's infancy. "Spelling Bee" first hit the British telly in 1938, while "Truth or Consequences" made a one-off debut on New York City's Wnbt in 1941. Our fascination with smarty pants contestants flaunting their vast trivia knowledge brought us the high-stakes duo of NBC's "Twenty-One" and CBS' "The 64,000 Question," which led to the 1950s quiz show scandals.
Over a half-century later, we're still hooked on programs like "Jeopardy," "Wheel of Fortune" and "The Price Is Right." Some of these shows require contestants to be genuinely well-read; others ask people to be semi-knowledgeable about retail value and physically capable of spinning a big wheel. Regardless of the skill (or utter lack thereof) involved, there is something undeniably thrilling about watching a regular working stiff go on live television and win a decent chunk of change. Depending on the show,...

Austin Stark is directing from his own script. Colman Domingo, Janeane Garofalo and Dan Hedaya are co-starring.
“The God Committee” explores the U.S. organ transplant system. The movie follows a donor heart being flown to a New York hospital, where a transplant committee has an hour to decide which patient is the recipient. The story also explores the impact of that decision six years later. It is currently shooting in New York.
“The worldwide organ shortage continues to devastate families from all walks of life,” Stark said. “I feel honored to be working with such an incredible ensemble –- anchored by Kelsey, Julia, Colman, Janeane and Dan –- in my quest to humanize the transplant system and bring faces to the statistics.”
Production companies behind the film include Paper Street Films, Phiphen Pictures, and Crystal City Entertainment.

Half a dozen shorts, one unheard of horror feature film offering (2013’s Devil In My Ride) and several indie producing creds most recently William H. Macy’s Rudderless, Gary Michael Schultz managed to land an impress set of indie players in Emile Hirsch, Zoë Kravitz, Zoey Deutch, Emory Cohen, Beau Knapp and Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi for his attention getting sophomore title. Principal photography on his love/violence themed revenge thriller began in Louisiana last December and it could potnetially have a soothing chaotic look as it was Fishing Without Nets’ Alex Disenhof on board as cinematographer.

Best known for his stumbling car salesman and poor choice of a husband in the Coen Bros’s Fargo, in his almost four decade career William H. Macy has seen his share of Park City red carpet treatment, including his directorial debut in 2014. While Rudderless might have been true to the film’s title, the filmmaker got right back into the saddle this past May for his sophomore project. What is being referred to as an American road trip sex comedy, despite some noteworthy comedic folk within this set of players (Alexandra Daddario, Kate Upton, Matt Barr, Matt L. Jones, Rob Corddry, Kal Penn, Molly Shannon) this doesn’t feel as Sundance-y as his previous effort.
